OK someone already had a thread before, but their question was different, so my question is…if you play a sport, like varsity, and its like very important, like very very, can you not fast druing game days, and make up for them later?
I play V soccer and i’m one of the starting players so I have to play, and what i normally do on game days is not fast, but make up after ramadan…does anyone else do that here?
ya but they are like beasts, its their job....i mean, i think i could fast and play, but i would have a high risk of dehydrating, cuz i play striker and mid-field...thts why i'm askin
Well, it’s really your choice. Making up the rozai later on doesn’t sound like a bad idea, but you also should choose which is more important: playing for the school team, or fulfilling a command of Allah(swt).
Do whichever you think is right, Allah judges by intentions.
ya thnx for the comments....see thts the prob though, i dunno if its right or wrong, thts why i was askin to see if other ppl do it also...i mean i do make it up later....
LOL gatorade…i think tht’ll just make me thirstier durin games…you think its healthy…like wake up and drink gatorade…hmm…not a bad idea though…i think i’ll try it, lol..i shouldv’e thougt of tht…
yaar, its a tough decision...i mean, if i was on a regular soccer team i would fast for sure, like fo sure...but this is like intense, and we are in the state playoffs, n i think the most i'll be missing in total are like 6 roza's, i've missed 2 already...but i'll make em up later so i think i might stick with not fasting on game days, since even though my coach told me its fine if I do, he was very very concerned with the dehydrating factor....but i might try the gatorade idea for like a non-important game....:D
my roomie is a varsity soccer player as well.. they had a game 2day… and i dun think so she was fasting today.. not sure.. i will ask her and let ju knw.. nerd emoticon..
I used to play soccer as well when I was in high school and I used to fast. At the time of iftaar, I used to step aside and drink some water. I played left defense, that's why I had a minute to step aside when the offense had the ball.
