and u guys completely missed the point.

right now its unverfied information, lets verify it, sure it sounds good, but so do the emails I get about nigerian officials kin trying to share their wealth with me.

secondly realize that if youuse this as some rationale and there is opposing information then you make your case weak.

I am not saying anything against ramadan or the spiritual or physical benefits of fasting, but am doubting the validity of this article because all that i have read has been very mixed on this topic and only the holistic new age type folks are chanting teh mantra of fast detox.

thats it.

if this came from american medical association and is based on sound study, i will be very happy and will shut up.

break it off kids....its just shows that you guys are you want to argue for the sake of arguing....Hin I understand that the reason behind your post is to see like added benefits of following Islamic teachings and for some it just makes their belief stronger...and Mr Frauds wanted to prove that Just trying to follow the teaching for the"ADDED" benefits doesnt help. So both of your point of views have some weight but let it be:)
In the end it really depends on the individual...what speaks more to him/her , her inner reasoning rather then just going with whatever others are saying.

Physical benefit to fasting? Fasting is intended to be a (minor) hardship for spiritual gain by way of restraint, so I would think the Islamic position would be that it should cause some amount of physical deterioration.
