Can rose water be used for moisturising the skin ? Only rose water…no additives.
Re: Rose Water
I use it as a toner and follow it up with moisturizer.

I want to use it as a moisturizer. Can it be used ?
Re: Rose Water
I don't think so it can be use as moisturizer use moisturizing cream ...........
Re: Rose Water
I don't know about using it as a moisturiser but it can be used to prevent or reduce puffiness around the eyes and as toner to prevent to tighten pores. A Persian friend of mine (rosewater is super common in Persian cuisine) mentioned that it also helps with dark circles around the eyes.

i don't think that rose water alone can be used a moisturizer as you need an emollient for moisturizing. you can spray rose water to refresh your skin, but you cannot moisturize with it.
Re: Rose Water
I don’t want to use a chemical cream on a daily basis.
I started using it..hopefully it will work on my dark circles too.
I heard glycerin with rosewater ..but I wanted to use rosewater alone :hinna:
Re: Rose Water
I also stay away from chemical containing creams. I usually get certified natural paraben free moisturizers (not expensive at all), usually cost around $10-15 for a jar or bottle. you can find on amazon, drugstore.com, or even ebay. I always read the ingredients because sometimes it can say ‘natural’ but will contain all the possibly harmful chemicals.
You can also use oils to moisturize. i use vitamin e oil+jojoba oil + few drops of tea trea oil mixed in a jar and use that all over my face.
Re: Rose Water
I have acne prone skin. Won't using oils cause a problem ?

so do I, thats why i add few drops of tea tree oil which helps to fight acne. but you're not supposed to apply it directly, so i mix it with other oils.

Hmm, rise water will provide moisture to your skin, but I imagine that it would also evaporate as it is water. Whereas, a cream tends to contain emollients such as oil that moisturize the skin for longer period of time. Drinking sufficient water will keep you hydrated and I think would benefit more than topical application of water in terms of keeping skin supple. This is just my guess.
You can spritz your face with rose water and immediately follow it up with acouple of drops of pure rosehip oil or argan oil. I swear by this combo.
Re: Rose Water
Actually, LP....what WK has suggested above is true. Your skin absorbs moisturizers (oils, creams, lotions) better when it's damp.
Re: Rose Water
I will give it a try once I get my hands on Jojoba and tea tree oil.
Right ![]()
I have argan oil at the moment. I will give this a try tonight.
Thank you ladies for informative replies ![]()
Re: Rose Water
Lp, suno...when you tone your face with rose water, you will need very little Argan oil...like maybe just a drop. This is because the dampness/wetness of the rosewater will help to spread and absorb the oil more easily so that you need little of it. Tone face with some chilled rose water and soon after apply a drop of oil. Don't dry the rosewater from your face, let your skin be damp/wet when you apply the oil or whatever moisturizer. If it's oil..use a little..try just a drop first.

you can find it on amazon, ebay, sometimes trader joes also has them.
Re: Rose Water
Rose water has astringent properties so it's the opposite of a moisturizer. However, it's very good for acne prone skin. Try aloe vera gel as a moisturizer, keeps acne away too.

Yes, it absorbs excess oil.
