Roomali.

Anybody know wth is a roomali ? What it is used for ? :hmmm:

Re: Roomali.

Lahola wala … yaar… please, kiyaa budtameezi hai..

Roomaali is something very personal and describing it here can be hazardous… :vivo:

normally related to shalwaar

Re: Roomali.

Wot

Haven’t you guys ever eaten rumaali rotis?

he must be talking about the same thing, just a different perspective

Re: Roomali.

LaholWallah

Aisee rotii Khaney Say Hum BHokey Hii Bhaley, Jis Kisii nay Bhee Yah Naam Rakha, ya Usey Rotii ka Nahee Pata, ya Phir Rumaali ka

roomaali rotis is different than the word alone “roomaali”

:omg:

and i thought if a handkerchief is a big size it's roomall and if small than it's roomali:(

Re: Roomali.

Roomaali is the piece of cloth that is used to join the two "legs" of Shalwaar.

Thank you!

I saw it at Indian grocery store , but I do not know the use of it, it looked very soft and delicious though .

They call it "Jhola" in memon. LOL

Jhol say jhola… wow… makes sense :hehe:

I don't know about Indian store rumaali rotis, but in Lucknow, whenever you buy any shaami kababs or bhuna gosht or seek kabab or tikkas, you get these real thin large round rotis that are more whitish than wheatish, called rumaali rotis, along with the chutneys and salad.

Thanks Niksik , I will pickup a few packets , Wife made some shami kababs and some chapli kababs yesterday for sehri , I will try those with these roomali roties . They looked as you described.

Re: Roomali.

Mirh::

stupid our wrestler are in pakistan, they think a tight piece cloth around is very necessary.
Or they get hernia because of extra pressure around the area.
So they have this piece of cloth triangle shape at the back with a 2 smaller belts(still cloth) on the side , to go around waist line. And one couple feet long belt which runs from back to front.

For some reason they don't want to use/know "tights". Like weightlifters use.

Re: Roomali.

Roomaali Rotis are not called roomaali at our place.... it must be lakhnawi thing...

Is it from the white flour? you know the flour used for making "paTTiyaaN" for samosay?

If I am not mistaken, they call these "chapaati" in pakistan

Re: Roomali.

^ that’s what I was going to say but did not :cb:

Aq, yes, I believe they are made with maida. No Asif, it's not chapaati.

But chapaaties are round, larger in size, whitish and made with maida too
