Role of women in world's major religions and why?

Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?

I am sure you are lost anjjan

I can ask can anyone count a single woman ruled over US (free and equal women) since its inception and what will that prove in this thread??

Please stay within the context. We are discussing The Religions...not people, social structure, politics or sectors.

Re: Role of women in world’s major religions and why?

No problem for clarification, but this individual would take wrong meaning even what i said was correct :bukbuk:

Re: Role of women in world’s major religions and why?

Yes. They are always correct but will never dare to answer this question…

Can any one count at least fourteen Muslim women out of last fourteen centuries who achieved some goals in public life without any opposition from the religious sector?

Re: Role of women in world’s major religions and why?

you heard of something called research

Re: Role of women in world’s major religions and why?

Read my post # 21.

Re: Role of women in world’s major religions and why?

Islam pampers its women which the western media has twisted to seem like oppression…Of course, western ideal of a liberated woman is someone who wears a coverall, has abrasive hands like men and works like an automaton or to be displayed by ripping her clothes off and taking pictures of her for Penthouse and Playboy…

Great liberation…:k:

While the Muslim woman enjoys the respect a woman in society deserves, western women have to strive against men in the workfield as well…Is it any wonder there is no respect for women in the western world but only ‘equality’? And what equality…They are used and tossed away daily like used condoms after having pleasured men…

That is all western women are good for in their liberated roles…Their use as pleasure machines with no one to speak for them and uncertain relationships…

Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?

Their use as pleasure machines with no one to speak for them and uncertain relationships...

Sad thing is that this statement describes eastern relationships in muslim countries too, despite the presence of Islam.

Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?

Religion is not equal to social and cultural activities.

All of the critics of Islam try to show islam has alleged weakness based on cultural impact on it from societies which have muslim majority.

If you compare religions, Islam gives much more respect and freedom to women than any other religions.

On the other hand so called free societies are actually the forceful reactions
to extreme negative attitude towards women in their predominant religion.

Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?

^ I hope you're not trying to discourage anyone from pointing out the obvious about muslim behavior with that statement.

Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?

No..not at all.

I must add.....some muslims also have misconception about islam, in the sense that they think islam itself promotes some of the cultural attitudes towards women.

(My statement will make some poeple extremely happy who want to wrongfully criticise islam and muslims that mis-interpretation is some sort of shield allegedly used by muslims whenever islam and muslims are ciriticised!..there is another thread on this misconception)

Re: Role of women in world’s major religions and why?

Just want to say that ‘obvious’ is not so obvious and is MADE ‘obvious’ by negative media (TV, Radio, Print media) against the great religion of islam.

Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?

So it should not be made obvious, when it does exist?

Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?

No.

The point is that it does not exist at all to the extent that it exists in the media.

Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?

My point is that we need to find out what other religions say about women and then and only
then we will be able to appreciate how much islam is the best ideology for women.

Re: Role of women in world’s major religions and why?

Show me some results!

In fact when I first asked the question, I was sure that they will prove me wrong. Somehow they have disappointed me.

Can any one count at least fourteen Muslim women out of last fourteen centuries who achieved some goals in public life without any opposition from the religious sector?

Re: Role of women in world’s major religions and why?

I know anjjan you have a Parrot mentality as you love to repeat everything you say in exact wordings also. How many times I keep referring to my earlier post?

You ‘claim’ you were ‘sure’ you would be proved wrong… sorry to ‘disappoint’ you!

Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?

Christianity (Bible)

"When the woman (Eve) saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it.** She** also gave some to her husband (Adam), who was with her, and he ate it...Then the man (Adam) and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, "Where are you?" He (Adam) answered, "I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid." And he (God) said, "Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from?" The man said, "The woman (Eve) you put here with me-she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it." Then the Lord God said to the woman, "What is this you have done?" The woman said, "The serpent deceived me, and I ate." To the woman he (God) said, "I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you." To Adam he (God) said, "Because you listen to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you, 'You must not eat of it,' "Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life."
Genesis 3:6-17

** Islam (Quran) **

[7:19] "As for you, Adam, dwell with your wife in Paradise, and eat therefrom as you please, but do not approach this one tree, lest you fall in sin."

[7:20] The devil whispered to them, in order to reveal their bodies, which were invisible to them. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you from this tree, except to prevent you from becoming angels, and from attaining eternal existence."

[7:21] He swore to them, "I am giving you good advice." [7:22] He thus duped them with lies. As soon as** they** tasted the tree, their bodies became visible to them, and they tried to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise. Their Lord called upon them:
"Did I not enjoin you from that tree, and warn you that the devil is your most ardent enemy?" [7:23] They said, "Our Lord, we have wronged our souls, and unless You forgive** us** and have mercy on us, we will be losers."

Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?

I do not understand what he wants to prove. Bible was also word of God prior to Quran......this is the understanding given by the authors of Quran.

I have no objection to their beliefs that Islam is the best religion for women even if it considers two women equal to one man, or if it dictates to beat your woman, or if it asks you to have fun with the one in the possession of your right hand..bla bla.

They have convinced me that 'divorce' as per Quran is to be applied in three sessions but could not come with any evidence of such a divorce throughout centuries, whereas lacs of women we can find who are thrown away after reciting three Talaqs.

I am ready to accept all of their dogmas, least they tell me....

Can any one count at least fourteen Muslim women out of last fourteen centuries who achieved some goals in public life without any opposition from the religious sector?

Ps...Who is a parrot....repeating indefinitely that his dogmas are the best.

Re: Role of women in world's major religions and why?

^ then your beef is not with the theory but how its practiced. Welcome to the club.

Re: Role of women in world’s major religions and why?

Who said available Bible is word of God?

Authors of Quran???

In my understanding talaq or divorce occurs by saying it to the wife three times in succession.

I prefer to ignore it just like my resposes to it were ignored. The question is out of context.
