Re: Role of women in world’s major religions and why?
I did not know you would be so upset in me pointing out to you that you need to commit to something which belongs to your religion and stop taking excuse of calling religious teachings as ‘dogmas’ as you mentioned earlier.
Moreover, stop using statement like you had no formal religious learning so I have no idea what you are talking about.
Remember, ignorance is not an excuse. Otherwise say that I will search for it to give an answer or I stand corrected.
You hide behind this noton and whenever get confronted you state this is not hinduism..or this is not how hinduism is today!
Again as I mentioned above…the key word in your statement is "Today Hindu religion…"
Is hinduism different today and will be different tomorrow?
Is hinduism different on Monday than Tuesday?
Is there any credibility in your own way of life we call religion?
Tomorrow you will say something different when get confronted so what’s the point of discussion?
Sure I can.
Islam does not condone child marriage. Age of adulthood has different meaning all over the world. Thats another topic though.
The whole idea of this thread is to show that Islam does not in any way promotes that women are inferior to men…!!!
These are stories and some may be true…but hinduism has for centuries exploited women and again…the religion itself, not just society.
Where did get this silly idea of getting a woman beat up for refusal to ‘satisfy’ a man?
First of all, both man and women have absolute obligation to each other for giving satisfaction (and much more than that) and any one of them can ask for divorce if there is a sexual problem in opposite person without prejudice or penalty.
(Now I am not talking about crazy animal like sexual desires to be satsfied by the opposite person as the rules apply only to usual and reasonable circumstances)
There is a high price one has to pay for beating or abusing his wife in Islam.
There is only one extreme exception and that is only after verbal, social and humble negotiation… and despite that if a woman sleeps around or betrays the husband… only then husband is allowed to use force to admonish but not to hurt her to irrepairable extent. What a nice and humble approach to save a family from breakup or humiliation outside.
Whats’ even greater about it is that a man gets not much of leeway and has to face severe punishment if commits adultery.
(there are places in islamic world where a man gets locked up for at least one night if he abuses his wife)
A woman on the other hand is advised not to use force as (even you could understand) that she will never be able to overcome man’s power and may get forceful retaliation from already bad guy. So its going to be lose lose situation for her.
I can’t believe that I have to explain this simple logic to adult person like yourself.
Well you are barking at the wrong tree…I have mentioned that veil in this form or shape is not Islamic.
