Almost in all cultures rivers are part of folklore and culture. River are the source of survival in all agricultural areas, be it Nile of Egypt or Ganga of India.

If we talk about Sindh, its culture is based on three things.

(1) Poetry of Shah Latif and his characters like Sassi, Marvi, etc

(2) Qalandar Shahbaz devoution

And

(3) above all love for river Sindh.

People still name their children Sindhu and Mehran. Many folk songs are related to flow of river Sindh.

How do you see importance of rivers in your culture?

Are there any songs related to such rivers?

Do they form part of folk tales and folk lore?

Ah Yes! Nice Topic…What can I say?

@ninja_hattori

Aab e Zam Zam muqaddas hain Hazrat Ismail Alehi salam ki nisbatse!
Sindhu ka pani kis nisbatse muqaddas hai?

If YOU don’t know I am not telling YOU!

Infact if today Sindh is called ‘Bab ul Islam’, then its due to the prosperity of the area because of River Sindh which attracted Arab invaders. Without River Sindh, there is no existence of Sindh.
