Rigging in 2013 elections

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

Sorry didn't get that.

All the political parties have moved on with the results. :( it dsnt seem that anything can be achieved now.

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

No that is not what I was advocating. No street revolution pls. That is not the way to go about it. The judiciary won't support such a stupid move, besides who said they are completely impartial. We don't need anarchy. Some PTIans are way too impulsive and jazbati!

Rigging or no rigging, NS would have won because of his strong following among biradris etc.. Breaking the traditional biradri shackles is IK's biggest challenge. Literacy is the key but it will take time

As for the rigging allegations, let the EC and SC deal with them

At the moment, IK's main focus should be KPK

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

well said...the only thing i would add is that IK shd vigorously follow up on those 25 seats that he mentioned today..and have them recounted...

for fellow PTIers, even by Imran's own admission there are 25 seats in dispute.,....so blaming whole election a rigged election is unfair. instead of hiding behind excuses, PTI shd accept defeat in rural and semi urban punjab and shd focus on finding a solution, ... that is only way forward.
i know Khan..he will never ever hide behind excuses.

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

Imran also sided with MMA when hudood ordinance was to be amended to include DNA testing for rape victims. Apparently, it meant that women were going to have free sex with everyone after the passage of the law! :rotfl:

This is what concerned people have cautioned Imran khan about and that includes people like hassan nisar, though he has written more about giving tickets to bad people. PTI probably did that to ‘fit in’ like they met with jamat ud dawa and have two stances about the blasphemy law (one in Pakistan and one in the west), but I think that is an issue just like education for girls or no violence against women that PTI should have taken a stand or at least abstained with the signatures as this doesn’t say much about changing things in case of pressure when corruption to islamic terror are huge issues in Pakistan. A friend already told me that terror policy is nawaz sharif’s problem like KP doesn’t have a police force that has to maintain law and order!

You seem like a nice person so I am hopefully not going to get trolled for any anti “messiah” statements like waleed does here or the PTI workers that called sana bucha a lifafa journalist (she wasn’t being "pro -PTI) or the abusing of journalists in Dee Chowk as complained about on Hamid Mir’s show by his correspondent.

Hassan nisar said it right that nature did imran right by not giving him the whole country, but to give him a tough challenge in KP and see if he has the cahones to fix that.

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

The issue is not victory or defeat.
PTI has already conceded the fact that PML-N has emerged as the single largest party. But you have to take into account the reason for the protests. PML-N made a concerted effort to ensure a simple majority. If they had achieved simple, or even absolute majority through legitimate means, they would have my blessings and prayers. But gaining it through crook is by no means a cause for happiness, and certainly not something that you can ignore.
If a person works hard and earns halal money and becomes a billionaire, you say mashaAllah. But if a person steals money to become a billionaire, you say lanatAllah.

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

  1. you kind of lost me at “Hudood Ordinance”, what is hudood?

  2. Sorry to disappoint you…I don’t know if Sana is lifafa or not…but I really don’t like her…she treats her audience like crap…I only saw like two shows of her’s and I was appalled at the way she handled it. She also likes to make fun of ppl’s english on her twitter account while she herself makes grammatical errors. So I just don’t like her as a person.

Not everyone needs to be pro-PTI…we are not living in a perfect world where everyone agrees with everyone. You make your own choices, those choices lead you to what you gain or what you lose.

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

isn't PTI's main agenda to fix the core system you are saying will stop PTI from "doing a jack"? if they knew it, what they were fighting for all this time? and what "Change" meant for which a huge number of people posted? game start honay say pehlay hee harr maan li? abhi to KPK ki govt bhi nahi bani

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

This from the Secretary, election commission.

Rigging has been confirmed on 54 constituencies in Punjab.
More than 2.4 million stamped ballot papers were wasted.
Karachi elections were not free nor fair.

Now what legitimacy do these elections have in light of this? 54 seats in Punjab would change the entire structure of the govt. PML-N would still be the leader, but not by much. Sham elections.

It doesnt surprise me that MQM and PML-N were congratulating each other on their mandates. Shayed issi support kay badlay mein PML-N ko Karachi mein aik lollypop seat di gayee.

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

^They need to do a re-election on all these places...if they are confirming it...do they really want the ppl to accept this?!

PPP accepts the results...because they were not impacted much by the rigging.

PressTV - Over 100% turnout recorded in some constituencies of Pakistan
Thousands of Pakistanis hold a demonstration against vote-rigging in Karachi on Monday.
Tue May 14, 2013 2:16AM GMT

PTI Chairman Imran Khan said on Sunday that the elections were rigged in Karachi and Punjab.

A number of electoral irregularities have occurred in the recent Pakistani parliamentary election, including over 100 percent turnout at several polling stations, reports say.

The Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) said in a report issued on Monday that the May 11 parliamentary election was rigged in many parts of the country since the voter turnout was witnessed at 100 to 320 percent at about 134 polling stations.

The over 100 percent turnout was observed at 15 polling stations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, 94 polling stations in Punjab province, 20 polling stations in Sindh province, and four polling station in Balochistan province, FAFEN said.

The largest discrepancy was discovered at a polling station in the town of Rahim Yar Khan in Punjab, where 315 voters were registered but it was recorded that 1010 people cast ballots.

At a polling station in Sindh, 491 votes were registered but 982 votes were cast.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has already taken notice of several complaints of rigging and irregularities in the election.

“We will conduct repolling where we receive substantial evidence of rigging or irregularities,” ECP official Ishtiaq Ahmed said on Monday.

Ahmed asked the people to submit evidence of rigging to the ECP.

Pakistan held elections for 272 directly elected seats of the National Assembly on May 11. An additional 70 seats – 60 for women and 10 for non-Muslims – will be allocated on the basis of a party’s share in the directly elected seats.

Elections for a total of 577 seats in the four provincial assemblies were also held on the same day.

About 86 million people were eligible to vote in the election.

According to unofficial results, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) won most of the seats in the National Assembly.

The PML-N has so far captured 125 seats with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) with around 30 each.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan said on Sunday that the elections were rigged in Karachi and Punjab.

“Police (were) used, and how the – the staff of the Election Commission were used,” he said. “And unfortunately it’s because the provincial governments were in power right up till 20 days before the elections – so they had plenty of time to place their people.”

Since May 12, thousands of PTI supporters have held demonstrations in Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Faisalabad, and other cities to protest against the alleged vote-rigging.

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

Countering 54 instances of rigging with one makes it balanced?

PTI has asked for re-election/recounting on all affected constituencies, including NA-71

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

Simple solution hay jaha per 100% say ziada result hay waha per re-election with media coverage k saath ker va day .
