Rigging in 2013 elections

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

Here is an example of ‘rigging’. But is it rigging or incompetency by some election officials?!

NA-250 Karachi: Miscreants disrupt voting process at DHA Phase-I polling station – The Express Tribune

KARACHI: The polling process at Dakhtaran Awami Secondary School, a polling station of NA-250 Karachi, began as per schedule but the process was later hindered by some miscreants who claimed that the ballot papers were not stamped by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

The presiding officer conceded that the ballot papers were not stamped but he had been calling the ECP offices since 3am and no representative showed up to solve the issue. The officer said that the process was rightfully being carried out as the presiding officer gets to have the final say in the matter.

ECP secretary general says they are assessing a re-poll on constituencies from NA248 to NA254...

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

Polling time has been extended until 8 pm in NA 250.

But what 4 polling stations are those which you mentioned? What areas do they cover?
are you saying that all polling stations which had MQM support are done with polling and the remaining 4 which had PTI support are still non operating?
i would like to see some reference to this. Any news article or something.

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

I think it is a good idea to do a re-poll.

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

And it MUST be free and transparent. Phir jo bhi jeet jaye!

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

You continue to see things with blinkers of bias on.
There might have been some instance of rigging. It can not be ruled out of possibility. But there is no MASSIVE RIGGING taking place.
Election commission acknowledged some rigging is certain constituencies, and as you yourself quoted, if deemed necessary it will do a re-poll there.

So calm down. MQM is not winning based on terrorism or rigging.** In fact we don't even know yet whether MQM is winning or not at all.**

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

Sure. Power to people. Respect to people's choice.

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

^ tsk tsk. I fail to understand people's obsession with Karachi and MQM. Why don't you talk about your own neighborhood?

Re: Rigging in 2013 elections

MQM asking to pre poll in NA250 shows that PTI clearly won the seat earlier

Ostrich. Head. Sand

How about you actually answer facts raised in the post above. Mind telling us what were the Neo-nazis doing in areas where there was a visible PTI support?

Massive influx of complaints have been pouring in from people of Karachi who were barred from exercising their democratic right by MQM goons. Non stop reporting in the media about rigging, violence, kidnapping, intimidation thats taking place in Karachi by the hands of MQM. Political parties have boycotted the elections because MQM's terrorism. But lets just ignore all that and celebrate your personal voting experience.

Btw, I'm so glad that you've figured that i don't like MQM. Phewww.
