Both men and women want looks, whereas you will see far more women chasing wealthy men than vice versa.

Has anyone considered that perhaps women actually do find rich, powerful men to be attractive? Men have evolved to respond to looks, while women value looks as well as security.

I agree, only really attractive/beautiful women can keep guys like this interested, since they know they have what it takes to get any girl they want. I was involved with a doctor who earned about $200,000+ a year. He’s rich/powerful and his number one demand was a beautiful and intelligent girl.

^ Actually, he started his specialty in gastroenterology (GI - an area of internal medicine), which upon completion would have him earning way more. Their average salary is $300,000 but he was a workaholic and would have made much more than that. He had positive ranks in the MD community for sure, and was easily able to climb up the latter because of his skills/passion for his work. Trust me, this guy was “powerful” - when it came to rank, status, and wealth.

Paheli00 - well considering the fact that the average income in Canada is around **$46,000 and this guy’s earning potential is 10x **that - I see him as quite rich. And yes there is status and power that comes with his occupation/connections. I guess it may be debatable about whether he’s *really *rich, but I see him as being quite wealthy for sure, especially for someone who is just 29.

^ I was just speaking of current income at first, and then what he’s working towards (which is the fact that upon completing the GI specialty in less than 2 years, he will be earning well over $300,000 at least). haha I have no need to be lying on this forum…I am a stranger to you all, and I have nothing to prove. I believe that's what I said, that men value looks more than women. The reason for this is that looks signify health, and breasts and hips in a woman signify her ability to birth and raise healthy children.

Women value looks for similar reasons, but they also value stability so that their children are well cared for. This is not just opinion, these opinions are prevalent among social scientists as well as biologists.

I would say that both are shallow to some degree, but since mens' motives are easier to discern, we get to claim the title of the shallower sex.
