now these are the views of a really smart guy, muscle mass and fat mass are not a subjective thing, they are very measurable. The basics of intelligence are to look after your health, in my humble opinion if you don’t take pride in your appearance and health than you are not very smart.

Further more this guy is intelligent and has a real sharp wit, why are we assuming that he is not intelligent, would a girl like to marry a guy that bsess philosophy or one that will help vacuum, take her out on adventures.

Every person has the right to be an amateur because we all start out as amateurs and then work ourselves up to becoming pros. A given.

Weak argument. Poor appearance does not impair a person’s intellect in other areas. It doesn’t hinder their abilities to reason, analyze and compute, and to increase their general knowledge. Plenty of beautiful bimbos and guys who are all brawn and not all that bright. And there’s more to humility than vacuuming and giving the shirt off your back to someone; much of it has to do with how we look at others. Let’s continue the saga of looking down on yet another group of people, under yet another guise.

Many consider a beautiful mind to be the most attractive feauture in an individual. Some want to sculpt their body and others sculpt their mind.

There are many types of capabilities. Different pursuits interest different people.

Good point. I was referring to growth in pct of assets being in equity over the 40 years. But u raise a good point - some of this growth due to increase in equity portion due to cap gains and reinvested dividends. Some due to increased allocation to equities.

What exactly is the your friend’s problem then? If they are both attracted to one another physical and emotionally, then what’s wrong with marrying a gori? In fact, we have several members here who are in mixed marriages. Heck according to Islam, he doesn’t even have to worry about converting her. Why is he not willing to consider Indian/Bengali/Arab girls? Instead of worrying about what other other men are doing and making judgments on their looks/personality, your friend needs to focus on finding that one girl where MUTUAL attraction and common future goals exist…regardless of whether she’s Pakistani or not.

P.S. I know guys who are high school graduates and have low paying hourly wage jobs, and yet still manage to go to Pakistan and come back with beautiful young brides. Thus I find it hard to believe that your good looking friend with an amazing body and good paying job can’t name to find someone of Pakistani origin.

If you are highly leveraged, your return on assets may be low but your return on equity will be high. Your equity say on investment property is 20 percent, property value goes up by 3 percent, your return on asset is 3 percent but it is 15 percent on equity.

Agreed. But slight miscommunication. By equity assets I meant stocks. The media does use equities as a proxy for stocks.

You are using Assets - debt = equity (or book value) in the ROA and ROE calcs.
