Oh yes you do!

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

legbreak,

Well that district is not like RLD in Amsterdam but yes each city of Pakistan has its own RLD.

Yes u can get booze in Pakistan too, not from a shop but there are other ways.

Sara516,
I think u haven't been out in Lahore much for fun, have u? Secondly dont compare American/British fun with pakistani fun. Two different worlds, two different definitions of fun.

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

Don't get booze in Pakistan, some of it can kill you, one of my far of cousins died from drinking cheap Paki beer.

You might be able to get imported in some places but I wouldn't say it's always genuine. It's haraam anyway so best to stay away from it plus you wont find many normal people who drink in Pak, so no pubs or bars where you can chill.

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

Najim.. errmm lets c.. visiting relatives.. shopping once in a while... dinners out once a week.. gets really boring ya knw..

What u mean by american fun? clubbing, partying? I dont do that stuff in NY either :-|

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

Can I brew my own?

Hopps should be widely available.

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

Well in Lahore you pay about 5k to a driver, about the same for a cook. And like so many above have suggested, its best to keep a family in servants quarter.
As far as property prices are concerned, they've gone sky high in the last couple of years. In Defence Lhr, the prices are around 10 million Rs. per 10 marla plot. In Johar town, its something like 8 million for a Kanal ( about 115x45 ft ). It was below 2 million for a canal only 3-4 years ago.

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

legbreak,

yes u can, then we'll read in the newspaper,

Ek pakistani nizad bartanvi shehri jo pakistan main reh raha thaa zehrili sharab peenay kay ba'is halaak ho gayya.

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

I should also add that I have a very basic grasp of urdu/punjabi only, so didnt understand much of that, except sharabi...

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

Googly ure funny :)

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

:hehe:

googley ! it is common in pakistan, as we have loads of poor people who want to drink cheep liqor so every now and then people die after drinking poisonous liquor, as govt has no control over its production and it is illegal

translation

An English citizen of Pakistani origin was ‘consumed’ in moonshine, while he was in pakistan  RIP

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

U don even know the language n u wanna settle here? :rotfl:

I used to think my urdu/punjabi was good then I started college and everyone made fun of my accent.. :frowning:

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

I still cant get over your need for a 24 hour massuer:D
when did you decide you needed one of those?

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!

I just assumed people in cities in Pak spoke English. I mean I got by with English in Paris. :) I speak poor Punjabi. How's that?

I realized how stressful my life was, and found a 24 hour messuer was probably a good idea.

Re: Returning to Pakistan-Q&A!
