wats wrong with Qazi Hussein Ahmad or Maulan Saab.. why do you forget Ch. Shujaat and Ch. Pervez Elahi- I find these candidates more capable than all of the tried-n-tested folks you mentioned except Nawaz. If NS comes back (inshallah), then I will have him rule the country with iron fist.

According to ‘The Nation’ an “airport is an international territory where local laws are not applicable”. If true that could make Nawaz’s swift deportation free from any legal comeback for the govt?

I don't think there will be either.

During the last 8 years the military govt has delivered three grand historic achievments that we never had before in our history - a free media, independent judiciary, and year on year growth in people's wealth/purchasing power. Neither the media, courts or the people will allow politicians to drag us into civil war or down the road to division like 1971.

BB and Nawaz have each been tried and tested twice - and failed. I am sure that this whole Nawaz saga will blow over in a week or so, and then we will be back to normalcy with the military continuing to exercise the same power as it does today, because politicians are completely useless. After all it's been more than 6 months since the CJ saga erupted, and that was arguably more "genuine" and dangerous for Musharraf's rule, but he has survived. Plus there are too many domestic and importantly external interests which continue to see Musharraf's survival as key to the continued success and stability of Pakistan and world security.
