Election results appear to be NRO engineered

LAHORE: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Amir, Maulana Fazlur Rahman has said that the results of the elections appear to be National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) subjected, however, despite all the reservations, “He accepts the decision of the people”.
In a statement issued from the JUI-F office here, he said that the defeat or victory happens in the election, but the results this time were such that the winners were more astonished than the losers and the apprehensions, which the JUI had expressed, have come to the fore loud and clear.
Fazlur Rahman said that irregularities were committed openly in some of the constituencies, however, despite all the reservations, “He felicitates the People’s Party and Muslim League-N.”
He said that his party believes in keeping the democratic process continuing and would keep playing its pertinent role in the parliament.
Illegal president nay Q league ka yeh hashar kar dia hay... woh entire blame Musharraf pay daal rahe hain...
Well, if elections were 100% free and fair the Lota league would not have gotten the number of seat they have won. In any case, they deserve it and so does Mushrraf. If he has any shame he should resign b/c people have delivered their verdict in no uncertain terms. He should accept that and live ASAP.

Shamraz...I agree any decent person would have done it...but this guy is besharam of highest order...he is still hoping of some deal with Zardari...I hope Zardari is not stupid...it will be a political suicide for Zardari if he does not honour people's verdict...
1) PPPP
2) PML(N)
3) MQM
4) ANP
5) Rest of the crap
There are quite a few pressing issues need to be sorted out for two major parties and MQM.
1) working with Musharraf I think PPPP will be willing to work with musharraf and this is why they might join hands with other crap and mqm to form a government. But they have also looked forard to work with PML(N) who will NOT tolerate Musharraf at any cost.
2) PML(N) have vowed to bring ousted judiciary back. PPPP havent vowed such a thing. They want a complete revamp of judiciary. MQM didnt even let ex Ch Justice let in Karachi.
3) Inflation is still gonna rise no matter who forms the government. Petrol prices are going to be up again.
Musharraf will have a few sleepless nights before he comes up with a plan to 'pata'ofy PPP and MQM to stay in power.
Interesting days ahead. I am very relieved that at least there will not be any protests on streets and further potential chaos. I am excited to see who forms the govt. Hope to see Makhdoom Amin Fahim as PM.
i think (not believe)
besides PML(N), army would also like to "farewell, Musharraf!". though Musharraf wont be an active part of army but still he might interfere in armies strategic plans.
whereas on the other hand so far Musharraf was "kerta dherta" of everything, which might not be liked by zardari & co as well. and since zardari have sympathies of entire nations after bibi's "shahadat" so it will be easy for him to say bye bye to musharraf.
well no matter what any judiciary is coming back. so the real question is whether ex Ch Justice would like to see Musharraf or not? and if ex Ch Justice is fair with Pakistan then Musharraf have no hope.
more than petrol they have wheat shortage. Kharif season is not coming anytime soon. whereas this year chilly winters might further delay Kharif.
and i think its better not to see Amin Faheem as PM because then Zaradri havent learnt his lesson by spending all those years in jail, and all he gonna do which he did in bb's era (eating).
whereas, he also have to look after the khandani politics. i mean he cant neglect Fatima bhutto, and Murtaza junior. and which can only possible if he is PM.
...means they give a new life to illegal president of Pakistan....it will be political suicide...
Illegal president nay Q league ka yeh hashar kar dia hay... woh entire blame Musharraf pay daal rahe hain...
Yazdi bhaijan. I disgaree. These elections have infact strengthened President Musharaf's position. People in Pakistan and outside believe these have been the most free and fair elections in the history of Pakistan.
With this in mind, political parties can no longer justify the reason for ousting Presdinet Musharaf. If there now is a vote in NA to whether to keep or Oust President Musharaf, not many people will vote against President Musharaf. After all the turbulent events of the last year, the people of Pakistan and political parties will be breathing a sigh of relief that the elections have gone so smoothly, and they will not be thankful to anyone who wants to prolong the political crisis.
With regrads to PPP forming a govt. with PML (N) is not as clear cut as it would have been had PML (N) not won as many seats as it has. PPP would want to be a dominant player, and would seek to form alliance without PML (N) if possible.
Aalsi Bhaijan…one thing is to play power game at the moment…and the other is to respect the people’s verdict..People’s party eventually has to bow down to people’s sentiment…and people have spoken very clearly…I don’t think they will put their political future at stake to save this man…
The whole world is looking at the election as a refrendum against the illegal President except you…his own party is saying that they are in this pathetic condition because of this man…however I must appreciate your loyalty…you are actually trying to find something positive for the pathetic dictator after all this…

ISLAMABAD: As chances of defeat loom large for the PML-Q, the party leaders have started criticizing President Pervaiz Musharraf and the party leadership in public.
According to the sources, PML-Q is facing worst crisis of its political history and poised to be losing ground. PML-Q leaders have asked their leadership to keep away from the Presidency. The party leaders also blamed top party leadership for strategizing poorly for the elections.
Addressing women workers of the party, PML-Q senior vice president, Akram Zaki said it was high time that PML-Q stayed away from President Musharraf.
Former federal minister Shaikh Rashid Ahmed said the party could not be termed as an organized party. He said that Lal Mosque operation put the party in deep troubles. One PML-Q leader who claimed to have secured 90 seats in National Assembly, later said their party would likely to get 40 NA seats.
Yazdi bhaijan. The world community was insisting that President Musharaf hold free and fair elections, and almost all the opposition parties and their supporters were adamant that these elections would be rigged. Theey were threatening the start of street movement against President Musharaf from today. Now the world community and even people opposed to Musharaf are praising the fact that he has delivered the freeest and fair elections in Pakistan’s history.
Does anyone now want to continue the confontational politics despite all the above? I don’t believe they will. All Pakistanis should be proud of what has happened yesterday. It was a historic day.
From this day forward, any election that will be held in the future, will be measured against the high standards set yesterday under the leadership of President Musharaf.

It's not about confrontational politics...2008 was the most issue based election fought in Pakistan...by rejecting partners of the President in this shameful manner they have rejected his stand on a lot of things..just to remind you of a few events which led to his downfall...
1) Actually celebrating mass murder of people on 12th May as his strength...
2) Bringing down judiciary and keeping judges under arrest for their stand against his attempt to get himself elected illegally..
Don't be so excited about fairness of election...If elections were entirely fair without rigging there was no way Q league would have bagged 37 seats...mostly what happened was the difference between Musharraf league and opposition was too huge...that no amount of rigging helped them to save themselves from these blushes..
Otherwise just dial if you have any friend in Lahore and ask about Mr. Moonis Elahi's attempts for rigging...the poor chap did not expect the amount of hatred for the illegal President and his partners...he was not able to change too much in a lot of places...
Why do you think his chief spokes person bhaag gaya raat kay indherey main...probably you can not imagine the amount of humilation they had to face...The whole day Q league tents were completely deserted...even their staff was not available anywhere...
Although there are some credible allegations of election-day rigging, mostly in Sindh, analysts believe the election exercise has been largely fair.
They say this was made possible due to close scrutiny by the international community, the local media, and the government’s fears that rigging may lead to popular uprising.
But a low voter turnout due to fear of violence and, in some cases intimidation, has prevented the results from being even worse as far as Mr Musharraf is concerned.
A higher turnout would have resulted in a near clean sweep against the president and his policies.
No. Read my reply again and see what it says. The world community and even people opposed to Musharaf are praising the fact that he has delivered the freeest and fair elections in Pakistan’s history. However, in my opinion, 2002 were also free and fair.

Aalsi bhaijan...2002 is gone...even 2008 elections are now over....people have voted for a change against Musharraf...if he is such a nice person as you are suggesting...then he should respect the public mandate...and leave ASAP...

Yazdi bhaijan. Now that there have been the freeest and fairest elections as hailed by all parties, and if this is a referendum against President Musharaf, then how confident are you that PPP, PML (N), ANP, MQM and others will unite to fulfil this so-called mandate (to remove President Musharaf)?
