Singapore Garden is also very well rated
Hang & Chang (Dixie/Eglinton) is considered best chinese by a lot of ppl
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
Guys, whenever u mention a restaurant, can u please let us know if its halal or not? Thanks.
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
hang and chang is good..i love their thai chicken...im going to haveli tonight...any words of advice?
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
Yes. Don’t go.
Go to Shahi Nan Kabab instead, its on Dixie/Eglinton, in the same plaza as Maple Banquet Hall.
Or check out Taste of Burns Road on Dundas, 1 block west of Hurontario. Its in the same plaza as Lahore Tandoor House. 75 Dundas West. Their nihari is :yummy:
Sincerely,
Captain Lota
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
Can someone recommend halal joints in the sauga area for late night dining? and puhleez don't say Aladin. Anything but the overrated Aladin :(
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
^ Amasi. It's one block north of dundas on hurontario. It's open late on Friday and Saturday- till 4am
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
i went to haveli on friday...actually we had to do a dawat for one of my cousins that got married..so it was 8 adults and 2 kids...lots of selection of food..food was okay..wanst amazing..but didnt suck..the atmosphere was nice...but really expensive..17 bucks per person...wow!! but hey, at least i didnt have to slave over a hot stove all week (besides working fulltime)..i still think it was worth it...
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
Rainforest cafe is pretty good...Mandrin and Swiss Chalet are not soo bad
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
Captain lota: Yes indeed their nihari is good, if you get the chance try their Tandoori fish cubes also...MmM yummy!
Hang N Chang is lil over rated...not bad food at all.. for chinese i usually goto faleys restaurant ..its on corner of islington and rexdale (close to 401) ... i hate going that area..but its worth the drive for the great tasting food! My person dish there is chilli chicken on fried rice....yummy!
Amasi is good halal joint open late night...its across Alladin, next to the police station. Also there is monfort, which sell true shawarma's but food is not halal. If your ok with non halal u can also check out great souvlaki dinner's at wally's restaurant on corner of Central Pkway and HWY10.... Not too many halal places open that late, you can also check out diamonds, gerrad, mehran etc..they are open 24/7 ..specialy for taxi drivers etc.

You'd be doing a service for mankind (read... me)... and earning dough as well.
I can't tell you how many time during an all-nighter, there's a need to get some food, and yeah I'm willing to drive from Waterloo to Sauga just for that - but when I say late-night, I mean more like 2:00 a.m. ish... :)
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
madras dosa hut....does anyone know where i can get halwa puri??? like in brampton/rexdale?
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
how come nobody has mentioned any native quebec cusisine (if there is on as such)?
and any ref to a really good Punjabi place?
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
If we're still talking Hakka Chinese then 'Chopsticks Szechuan' is definitely worth a try. I absolutely love their food. This place comes closest to serving the type of desi Chinese food available in Karachi.
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
You can get it in Mississauga on Dundas and Hurontario. There are loads of Pakistani restaurants in that area. People go there for breakfast. :p
Re: restaurant hopping TORONTO
yeah...the funny thing i used to live in that area (near square one..) but i never went for halwa puri breakfast..now that i moved, my hubby has these cravings....but no way im getting up early on a sunday just to go down to sauga....
