Its the father who makes the most sacrifices. Mothers don’t have to work, they chose to work, its an option. Its the father who goes out hunting, takes risks, for his family. These mothers who work would rather be out and about, “working” than staying at home and taking care of what needs to be taken care of. Today mother’s sacrifice is those 9 months that she keeps the child in her belly and then she leaves the poor kid to a nanny or a sick sick sick place called day care, so she can work and get her nails done and hair massages and keep minimum wage nanny employed. The father is left with, not 9 months but over 21 *years *of responsibility… his decisions, choices, risks in those 21 years can make or break the family’s back permanently.

An educated woman + home schooling her child could be a solution to major social problems we face today.

I have no idea what privileged world you live in or what kind of mothers you know, but most women in north america HAVE to work in order to have a comfortable life with their family. and some lower wage families also need two working parents just to meet the basic requirements of raising a healthy child and having a roof over their heads. being a parent is as much about providing for your children as it is about raising them to be good people.

as well, in north america, there is no such thing as a minimum wage nanny. nannies cost much, much more than daycares do. most women i know who employ nannies do so because they have more than one child and need the additional pair of hands around the house which is completely understandable.

lastly, i find your insinuation that a working mother raises poor children extremely offensive. almost all of the people i know, myself included, had moms who went to work and all of us have grown up to be well rounded, normal, healthy and happy adults, and we’re very close to our parents.
