A marriage would be so boring with only respect. I wouldn't be able to wrestle him.
but only imagine if there was no respect, he'd box your ears and give you a nose bleed with a triumphant "whos the daddy now?" ;)

Re: Respect or Love?
Its all about Love, because when you truly love, you also respect. And if you don't respect then there is no love!!
Re: Respect or Love?
Respect DOESN'T have to include love. (For example you can respect your neighbor, coworkers, boss without having any feelings of love toward them.)
HOWEVER.....Love HAS to include respect. The very basic foundation of love is respect. And if a partner claims that he/she "loves" you but is constantly disrespecting you.....that is not love.

^ You know the thing is even though in desi couples the husband wouldn't give a crap about the wife but she would do her utmost to respect her husband. So its a win win situation:)

A win-win situation is one in which BOTH parties benefit. It's not a win-win situation if the husband is treating his wife like crap and she is treating him like a king. I'm hoping you're being sarcastic in your quote. And I don't mean that in a way to hurt or offend you. Respect in ALL relationships should be mutual....otherwise it's dysfunctional.
Re: Respect or Love?
Respect. When there is respect, love comes in automatically.
Respect. When there is respect, love comes in automatically.
Not necessarily. Some emotions don't follow automatically. You can respect someone without loving them. For example....you can respect your boss even though you don't love him/her. You can respect your coworkers, neighbors, and even acquaintances.......without having feelings of love for them.
There are married couples.....who don't love each other......but they have agreed to continue being stuck in the relationship which is based mostly on respect........not love.......not passion. Just respect and tolerance.
HOWEVER...........when you LOVE someone.......you should respect them. Because RESPECT is a required foundation of Love. A husband who claims he loves his wife WILL/SHOULD respect her.
