Yes, I think there are some similarities eg. protecting women, honour etc.

The big differences are around how one intereprets respect. There was an interesting reason given in an earlier post about how allowing 4 wives for a man or a woman needing 4 witnesses to prove *zina *is out or respect for them. Hindu philosophy and Islamic beliefs would view that very differently.

As u read about Islamic belief, a woman doesn’t allow marry more then one woman at a time. Tell me about hindu philosophy about proving zina, if u don’t mind.

psyah, by this logic then rape is allowed in Islam because there is no verse in the Quran which prohibits forced sex. In fact there are verses in there which allowed Muslims to have sex with slave woman (Islam Question & Answer).

I can see there is nothing coming out useful from your comments. Here i would like to add that the slavery has been abolished by international agreement.

have no clue how far the discussion has gone and have no desire to be a part of it but going by how GS is compared to other forums, most pakistani muslim men here are very respectful towards women and look out for a female, i personally saw an example of it, is it just the mods working hard? :hmmm: i don’t think so
