It is said that you have to earn respect. Unfortunately for some professions if all the attention is diverted to earning money, respect factor automatically start declining. This is what happening to doctors as well as teachers. If an Auditor appointed to report on affairs of company’s financial matters fails ( due to involvement of fraud or professional negligence), he also has to face similar circumstances besides losing his market value.
Today’s teachers have become exams and business specific and thats why you see coaching centers and two-three rooms Montessori / Private schools in almost every street of Pakistan. The small town I belong to have more private schools than medical stores.
It was because they know that teachers won’t cross their limits. At that time a of teacher was enough for student to behave. We have now made strict rules for not physically punishing students, but still we hear extreme cases reported in media.
Well said. Education not only have become a business, but people use their investment in education to exploit the others.
In old days, teachers in rural areas used to give special treatment to students from upper families. They were afraid of Waderas. Now waderas don’t send their students to such teachers, because they have realised that people can also be exploited through foreign degrees.
I agree what you and PM are saying but shouldn't we respect elders regardless of anything?
Giving respect to unworthy people encourages them to continue the routine. BTW such teachers don't require you to respect them. They want money and nothing.
