Re: Respect for Teachers
haha I mean, it's not like he was their teacher.
Honestly, teacher's aren't paid enough. This is another reason too. They're not placed on the level they deserve to be at.

Now thats the point where I can't agree with most the people. If you are not getting enough return in monetary terms, it doesn't automatically allow you to do hanky panky. You chose the profession with your choice knowing all the advantages and disadvantages and should not take revenge from others for your own wrong decision.
On a side note, there is also a notion in society that one who can't do anything, he/she should join teaching. Most of the people don't plan to be teachers
Re: Respect for Teachers
I'm not talking about hanky pany. The two points were separate from one another. I mean that honestly they're not paid as much as the work they put in, and what they really deserve. I think this contributes to a lack of respect at some level, from a broader view (society and not just students).
I've heard that too, but I knew a lot of people from my university who wanted to be teachers...and it wasn't like they were incapable of anything else. Two that I knew were 4.0 students. One was a Math major who at the very end decided she wanted to do teaching instead of going further in math.
That story was just something I remembered from a creativity in physics course I took lol
Re: Respect for Teachers
You are right that even people who gives us religious teaching (commonly known as Molvi / Mulla) got khairaat ki roti and during British era they were categorised as kami-Kammeen in government's record

Re: Respect for Teachers
Overall state of respect has changed now..What kids go thru at home is what they represent …the way Parents talk to teachers in front of their Kid is enuff to let ‘A teacher’s respect’ down..
Secondly, teachers have become far more friendlier than what used to be some 20 years ago. It is productive and counter productive at the same time. I remember during my ‘Student’ days I found it extremely hard to ‘understand and deliver’ in subjects which had strict teachers. And what I learned from my teachers is what I am delivering right now …and believe me the response is Masha’Allah so satisfactory for me.
Re: Respect for Teachers
well, as my friend puts it.
i would respect them if they were not emptying my pockets with fees. If they teach me only when i pay them, there is no reason to respect them.its a service transaction, just like a haircut or carpet cleaning etc etc. They are doing it for the money, respect kahaaN se aa gai?
