If I get anything out of the news converge about the riots, it is that France has no laws against racism or equal opportunity employment, it is not that they aren’t racist, they just don’t consider themselves to be one or racism a problem. They have the burry your head in the sand kinda approach to the world, which is funny because among all the colonialists French have the worst record of exploiting and human rights. I will continue to believe that the rest of the Europe is different.
And anything a Republican can learn from these riots is that Affirmative Action has some merit and all the other moral values that the liberals fought for, like civil rights for instance and no discrimination based on gender.
Bush seemed pretty miffed when Waleed Shater, an Muslim-Arab Secret Service member was barred from boarding a flight after 9/11. If I remember correctly, Bush said that he’d be “mad as heck” if Shater was detained becasue he was an “ay-rab”.
