.. and Bush comes across as a normal human being when compared to the interviews of the French ministers and government officials that I have been listening to on the news. I knew French were self centered but these riots have really brought out their true colors.
Is this what the Europeans have to offer when they talk about their multicultural and liberal societies? tsk tsk tsk
If i were a WASP living in america, i would be hating these liberal hippies too. But alas, I like you kaleem, am not a WASP, so I must be a liberal by default. Why arent you?
^
This makes no sense. Google the terms Libertarian and Wall Street Republican. Being Republican is not a WASP issue it is about the political philosophy. As a Pakistani, I doubt that you would receive any better treatment in the Democratic party.
Republicans may have been veering off course with the bible thumping rednecks dominating the scene, but the core of the party’s economic platform is sound. In terms of politics, its all about the money, MY money in MY pocket.
This morning on NPR (that tries to get to all sides of the story) aired interviews of a conservative party member and a socially liberal party member that was claimed to be from the current French prime minister’s party or something. The conservative guy said that it is an immigration problem, and that they had been telling the government to seal the borders and expel all others but the government doesn’t listen. The liberal guy said the rioters are drug dealers who the police have cracked down in resent past and thus are trying to cause chaos. They both denied that the suburbs are filled with unemployed people or there is any discrimination in French society or any problem with integration or racism.
Well lets be honest here: Europe is NOT like the US. The European states are not “land of opportunity” or the home of immigrants. France is for the French, UK for the Brits etc. Brown and black skinned people are not welcomed because they don’t really belong there. Come on now, if you see an Ice Lander in Pakistan, would you really consider him Paki?
US, Canada, Austrialia and New Zealand are exceptions.
If Pakistan were to have similar “immigration” rules and people really moved then of course they would be considered Pakistani… Many Afghanis, Bengladeshis have become “Pakistanis”
so you do admit that it is bankrupt
Dopey dope, if you had a choice between a hypocrit (who will stab you in the back when you least expected) and will never give you a straight answer (read: I was for the war but against the war, Kerry:Circa 2004) or a person who says I do not belong to party, however, I am fiscally and morally conservative"…What will you choose?
Kaleem, “I’'m against Bush but I voted for him.” talk about calling the kettle black. Keep voting Republican Kaleem and soon enough every Mosque in this country will be bugged.
You mean hypocrite like a fiscal conservative who has run up the largest budget deficits in the history of the world? Or a back stabber who discredited his nation by going to war on false pretences? Or never give a straight answer like 'anyone who leaks in this adminstration will be fired, err… I mean anyone who breaks the law, err… I mean anyone who can’t dance around a vague law but obviously breached national security for petty political reasons?
BTW I think you mean to use the term ‘socially conservative’ since the ‘morals’ of the socially conservative party are disgusting.
I did not say that I am against Bush... I said "I am against the war and certain decisions he has made recently"...but then again I expect that from you...twisting the facts (sign of a true lib)....
Regarding bugging the mosques....like dems would do it any differently.....
No, twisting the facts would be what Bush did in the lead up to the war and almost any other policy decision in this embarassing 5 year period. Conservatives now have a lock on twisting the facts.
UTD, like I said…my statement shows that I realized that I have made a mistake voting for him, however, it still does not prove that I am against him. Anothe litlle detail, the statement you quoted was way after the election…if it had been before elections and I still voted for him you had an argument…not now buddy
Dopey dope, tell me how has patriot act affected your daily life…and please spare no expense and give us all the details so we can all benefit from your wisdom.
