^^^ Replicas ^^^

For those of us ghareeb awam, who can’t afford exotic cars:

Do any of you (or anyone you know) have any experience with replicas? Are they really worth it? At times I have seen that the total price of assembled replica turns out to be really expensive (and/or close to the price of original one). Even if it is cheap compared to the original one, is it really worth the money (looking at it in terms of performance, reliability etc)?

HHL, i've been doing some research on this very topic recetly, caz i'm going to be selling my M3 due to its high running costs.

I'll be buying a 520 and always liked the M look, so bro suggested that i may want to try an get the M look by having a M conversion done, so i rang around and been quoted figures in the region of £4000 to £5500, so not only will i be getting the look i'm wanting, i'll get it at a fraction of a real M5. win, win, win.

As for the performance/reliability, nowadays minor changes to your car's engine management can get you good performance and reliability, ie. exhaust and engine timing/tuning; and they dont even cost the earth.
