The purpose of starting this thread is that this smilie :maulana: should be removed and in future no such smilies created …
all those against it plz show support

it reminds me of college days …whenever someone kept a beard or wore a praying cap was called “mullah” or “qaari sahib” to make fun of him.
if this had been on a western forum it would have been called “racist” but because our people are making fun of religious muslims it is okay…

Like I said...

If a Muslim grows a beard, puts on an imama, who is he trying to look like? Who is he trying to emulate and copy?

So making fun of a Muslim for the way he emulates his appearance is making fun of the person he is emulating...

And only the most diehard baighairat, baisharam, baihooda Muslims will opt to do that...Not even averagely educated non-Muslims will do such a thing out of respect...

It has to be a mod-Muslim wishing to show his open mindedness and progressiveness who would do this...

just because we have a a smiley face emotican , does it make we are making fun of everyone who smiles?

I say we add few more mulla emoticans - showing a speechifying, a fiery speechifying, as well as a 'going to jail soon' emoticons are necessary

I wud also like to see a smilie of a bikni clad, fat woman waggling her behind on a beach. Or protesting for legalizing brothels.
