This is what was said after in 2002 as well, but the BJP thugs would not let a full investigation into it.
Godhra fire an accident, says report
Rules out conspiracy
Tribune News Service
Negating the Sangh Parivar’s “conspiracy theory” behind the infamous Godhra train blaze which claimed 59 lives and triggered communal riots across Gujarat in 2002, the Justice U. C. Banerjee probe committee in its interim report today described the incident as an “accidental fire” and ruled out the possibility of any inflammable liquid thrown from outside the coach. “With the elimination of the ‘petrol theory’, ‘miscreant activity theory’ as well as ruling out of any possibility of ‘electrical fire’, the fire in S-6 coach of Sabarmati Express can at this stage be ascribed as an ‘accidental fire’,” the committee said in its interim report which was submitted by Justice Banerjee to the Railway Board Chairman R.K. Singh. The committee was appointed by the UPA Government in September last year at the instance of Railway Minister Laloo Prasad. Nearly a thousand people, most of them belonging to the minority community, were killed in the riots that followed Godhra train fire. The interim report has come days ahead of assembly polls in Bihar, Haryana and Jharkhand. The report severely criticised the entire hierarchy of Western Railway in pre-judging the issue by describing the incident of fire as a miscreant activity without conducting even a preliminary inquiry. It said there had been a preponderance of evidence that the fire in coach No S-6 originated in the coach itself without any external input. “The possibility of an inflammable liquid having been used is completely ruled out as there was first a smell of burning, followed by dense smoke and flames thereafter. This sequence is not possible in case the fire is caused by inflammable liquid thrown on the floor of the coach or an inflammable object thrown from outside the coach.” The report said the “inflammable liquid theory” also gets negated by the statement of some of the passengers who suffered injuries on the upper portion of the body and not the lower body and who crawled towards the door on elbows and could get out without much injury.
“The committee has found it unbelievable that `Kar Sevaks’ (to the extent of 90 per cent of the total occupants) armed with “trishuls”, would allow to get themselves burnt, without a murmur, by miscreant activity like a person entering S-6 coach from outside and setting the coach on fire,” the report said. Referring to forensic laboratory’s experiment, the report said the committee verified the conclusion that it was impossible to set fire to the train from the outside. call. “Some evidence of cooking inside the coach by Kar Sevaks was also given. Moreover, the committee has on the basis of evidence available on record found that the train left the platform at around 07.48 am and stopped on account of vacuum failure in some coaches and the train started again at about 8 am. Relying on the Survey of India Mapping of Distances and given the speed of the train at that time, the committee noted that the engine ought to take about 5 minutes time to be near the post at 468/19 and the guard’s coach at 468/45. It is at this juncture that the smoke was not only noticed but had been reported to GRP, RPF and Vadodara Control. There was thus no scope for any miscreant activity from any external agency during this period,” the report said. It said there had been failure on the part of the Commission of Railway Safety and Railway Administration to conduct a statutory inquiry into this accident. “This was in breach of the Railway act as well as the Accident Manual of the Zonal Railway.” The report said the Railway Administration had also not made any concerted effort to preserve the clues of the incident. In particular, it criticized the onward travel to Ahmedabad of S-7 coach despite some damage to it and despite it being a crucial piece of evidence. “In fact, the damaged portion of S-7 has been disposed of as scrap.”
The report also noted that neither the then Railway Minister nor members of the Board visited the site of the accident or the injured passengers. Noting that the response of the Godhra Fire Brigade was “most unsatisfactory” not only in terms of delayed arrival but also in terms of high percentage of ineffective fire engines and non-functioning of the motor pumps of the fire tenders which came to the accident site, it said a fire which could have been doused in four to six minutes, took very much longer resulting in heavy loss of lives. Justice Banerjee refused to take questions from mediapersons and left soon after submitting the interim report and mentioning its main points. The committee, set by the UPA Government in September last year, was given a three-month extension after its initial tenure ended in December. Former Railway Minister and Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar, during whose tenure the infamous incident took place, described the report an attempt on the part of the Lalu Prasad-led Rashtriya Janata Dal to extract political mileage. He said such attempts would prove futile and the RJD leader would have to look for new tactics.
Re: Remembering the Mumbai riots......
We have read these conspiracy theories many times, but cannot understand what the Muslim mob was doing there. I am sure this mob was there to help the burnt Hindus in train boggy.
Trishul theory is picked up by Laloo from Islamic media, so this Hindu is their favorite. (By the way Laloo made much noise of the intrim report before Bihar elections and now totally dead over it, or has left it for many like Reza to continue making noise.)
i would like to know what type of kerosene can bring the boggy to ashesh in 5-6 minutes.
Re Mumbai riots...the Muslims who started violence are not guilty. They only mistook Mumbai for UP or Bihar.
Re: Remembering the Mumbai riots…
Could this commitee (or any preivious commission) find a single metal trishul in the burnt boggy?
Re: Remembering the Mumbai riots…
Years before Laloo even touched this subject.

Godhra bogie was burnt from inside: Report
TIMES NEWS NETWORK WEDNESDAY, JULY 03, 2002 12:05:57 AM
AHMEDABAD: The mystery over the burning of the S-6 compartment of Sabarmati Express at Godhra on February 27, which killed 59 passengers and set off an unprecedented spate of communal frenzy all over Gujarat, has turned deeper with the forensic report on the incident discounting the possibility of the mob throwing inflammable liquid from outside and then setting the bogie on fire. Investigations made by the Ahmedabad-based Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) have now shown that almost 60 litres of inflammable material was poured from inside the compartment before it was set on fire.
A report by the FSL’s Assistant Director Dr M S Dahiya, which is part of the charge-sheet filed in the Godhra case about a month back, is based on a study of the pattern of the burns in the compartment and a simulated exercise conducted on May 3 to recreate the incident. The report contradicts the view held so far that the mob which attacked the train threw inflammable liquid at the train using buckets and cans from a distance, even while the passengers had shut all the windows and doors of the compartment. To recreate how the crime must have been committed, a train bogie was placed at the same spot. Using a variety of different containers, it was doused with liquid for experimental observation. The report said the height of the window of the bogie was found to be seven feet. In these circumstances, it was not possible to throw inflammable liquids into the bogie from the outside with the help of a bucket or a jerry-can because by this method most of the liquid fell outside the bogie. At the spot of the incident, at about a distance of 14 feet, there was a mound of gravel-stones about 3 feet high. It was spread parallel to the bogie for a long distance. The FSL officials, standing on the mound, threw water on the windows of the bogie, of which only about 10 to 15 per cent entered the bogie. The rest fell on the outside. Since, a major portion of the inflammable liquid fell on the tracks and around it, it would have caused damage on the outside of the bogie and under it.
The report says, “after inspecting the bogie and the tracks, it was found that there is no effect of fire below the windows. Taking this fact into account and the burning pattern on the outside of the bogie, the conclusion is that no inflammable liquid was thrown into the bogie from the outside”. It further says, “it also does not look possible that inflammable liquid was thrown in from the doors of the bogie”. As a next step, using a bucket, about 60 litres of water was thrown into the passage of the compartment from one side and then a large part of the bogie was covered. Water thrown like this went only in one direction, no part of it flowed outside from the open doors or in the direction of the latrine. “On the basis of this experimental observation, the conclusion is that standing in the passage of the compartment near seat number 72, using a container with a wide opening, about 60 litres of inflammable liquid has been poured and then immediately a fire has been started in the bogie,” the report says. The FSL report further says that “it appears that three of the four doors of the compartment were open when it was burning while all the windows were shut. The pattern of burning (allegatoring pattern) shows that the intensity of the heat was four times more towards the eastern side (towards seat no. 72 of the bogies”.
Re: Remembering the Mumbai riots......
Next time he will prove that some Hindu miscreants burnt the boggy with petrol.
This point Reza will never touch.
Reza will never touch this point also.
I cannot understand the theory that Muslims who kill non-Muslims are sane, and if retaliated the other party is guilty.
Long live the 'design theory'!
