My "exception" argument was not at what age a girl hits puberty. My point is that the physical readiness for bearing children could have nothing to do with her mental and emotional readiness. Just because a girl hits puberty doesn't mean she is ready to marry. So how does Islam or any other system determine these exceptions (little girls who are experienced, educated, stable, emotionally, physically spitirually ready) to marry?
And what does it mean "caring for people in a legal manner"? If an old man wants to care for a little girl, the proper way to care for her is to adopt her until she is ready to make her own decisions.
All this aside, whether a little girl is ready to marry or not, is almost secondary in my mind to "why would a grown man want to marry a little girl"? Shouldn't a marriage be a partnership? How can an inexperienced girl be a partner? Her personality, likes, disklikes, etc haven't even been established. "What does the man get out of it"?

I agree many girls need to be mentally ready as well as basic requirement of being physically ready. BOTH are required for marriage. It is possible for some females to be ready in all senses at a variety of ages, including 10 years. To put an age limit to such a thing is unfair for those ladies. Islam puts a crtieria on an individual basis. It does not impose 10 year old marriages across the board and that is what you are mistaking time and again. How many Muslim pedophiles do you hear about? May Allah (SWT) keep this disease away from all humans, but honestly it is prevalent in the ultra-liberal societies.

No, there is not. There is only "animals are ready to reproduce when they reach puberty, therefore a girl becomes a woman at puberty and can get married". You alone have argure that a woman must be ready in all phases.
But I strongly disagree that this ever is the case for a 10 year old. Maybe, what, 1 in 10,000? So there must be exceptions made for such rare occurrances or it is unfair to the "lady"? That's absurd. Society, culture and interpretation puts far greater burdens on these girls than waiting a few years to commit for the rest of her life.
