Scenario 1: You have a devout muslim, classic book definition one, prays five times, reads quraan, prays, hajj etc. but doesnt really understand the real reason behind religion, has limited understanding of God, creation etc. Never really bothered to read the translation of Quraan.
Scenario 2: You have a person that lives his life peacefully, understands all religions and the concept of God, Prays (not traditionally like salat etc), has a strong faith about the oneness of God and the fact that god exists, believes in all prophets, be it Buddha, or Moses or Mohammad.
Who is a better person? and who will go to Heaven?
Also is it better to have strong faith and not be religious ?
OR
Be religious but lack of faith/understanding?
In order to be religious one would need a certain amount of understanding, which would only be gained through faith. If a person doesnt have faith, he/she doesnt have much of the religion. And verizon why are you sitting here asking people to decide who will go to Heaven? What utter bs.
^^ Ok if you think it is Bs then answer the quesition and take out heaven. The reason for heaven question is because of Mulsimah's infatuation with heaven and how no one else is allowed.
BTW are animals muslims? and do they go to heaven? What about a mean dog that bites?
Who is a better person is decided by society, therefore a relative term. Societies such a s the Taliban or Saudi with more emphasis on form will of course appreciate the devout follower performing all his duties. Comparatively, societies such as Scandanavian, Canadian would appreciate those more who have better understandings of religions, tolerant and supportive of all religions.
WHo goes to heaven? That question needs to be re-directed to the big guy up there and everywhere.....any human who claims to know that answer, well he/she is playing ...
Your other two questions are once again relative and judgemental.
Verizon, I believe you can find all the related information by asking Mirza Shaib:), the rest of us Muslims will leave the question of who goes to hell or who goes to heaven to Allah. Of course HE is the best judge.
Verizon it is not religion vs. faith but Religion vs. Facts. You ask people on this site whether chinese buddhists will go to hell, they will say "yes" and prove to you by quoting scripture, they have faith in. Scriptures and religions work because of faith..not facts. Faith is nebulous, facts are damn straight.
Two things:
1. Islam is a complete package. You cannot take your pick out of it and adopt that particular portion.
2. The definition of a Muslim is 'One who submits to Allah's will'. The trees, the earth, the mountains, the animals, the birds etc. are all Muslims. Even a fierce dog that bites is a Muslim, because he submits to the will of Allah and does what is required of him.
u see examples of ur first scenario all over pakistan... people who pray, perform hajj yearly, and all the other religious obligations.. but ask them about their faith and why they believe, they look at u clueless or give u a fatwa...
as long as you acknowledge that spirituality is faith based. It is all good. Makes life a lot more palatable..once you go down the path of absolute or universal rules and applications of faith based items...then you are in a pickle. Religions are not one size fits all. They are individualistic..
^ agreed. And ones faith cant be measured or compared to anothers.
Religion is a spiritual thing. The way u accept it and practise it is between you and your God alone..
If one person believes that to be a good muslim or jew or christian or hindu or bhuddist, they only need to pray and practise the religious obligations, then so be it. That's their way of practising. If we believe that religion is something from the inside and not just show and tell (as so many people love to do), then let us be as well... dont judge. Let Allah Mian do that..
Mirza is small potatoes compared the big scheme of things, plus he is dead. You being the bearer of Islami Jhanda with sister MQ in your tow in heavy claded burqah made in China assembled in India, but ofcourse halal (they have muslims you know) would be better at shedding some light on my humble question. Who needs prophets when we have you both. Educate me.
