I think it would be fine on a Valima as well. As, it isn't specifically our tradition, it can be adapted on any day. Also, I think incorporating western traditions gel well with a valima setup rather than the wedding. Just my opinion.
I hate to be crass, but am I the only one thinking of bird poo? Seriously, I imagine it could be a real problem! My sister went to this wedding, and through out there were these strange birds flying around, pooing on everyone! :o At night! So weird! So what if that happened when you released doves? Again, sorry about being so disgusting!
I have seen it in some movie... someone released bunch of helium filled colorful balloons.. it looked pretty.. i think it was an english movie.. no no the movie "UP" :P
If done in the West, I think one should put a note somewhere about the balloons being earth-friendly, just in case some guest gets offended about ruining the ecology.
yeh Pixar's UP :D cute movie!! thanks for the example videos ehehe.. in the west you need disclaimer at all times.. you never know when you might hit a nerve :P
But how is this all going to be possible..balloons/butterflies/doves etc at night ??
Unless it a day event..
My sil released doves after her nikkah ceremony which was during the day. I wanna do the butterflies tho..such a refreshing idea :)
