I invite you to share your knowledge about the “Gog and Magog”. Whether they released or not yet? Both are dependents of / from? Or any other information related to the “Gog and Magog”.

Walaikum salaam brother LK,

I have heard from one scholar in particular (Dr. Israr Ahmed, may Allah bless him with Jannatul Firdaus; in his series of Quran tafseer), and read from numerous others that the wall which was constructed by dhul-qarnain has been demolished, and is no longer present as a barrier. So that would indicate that gog and magog have been released. Beyond that, Allahu Aalim. But I would love to read what others have to say about it.

I believe in this forum they should be called as we pronounce them:

Yajooj Majooj

so people can understand what we are talking about, I looked at the topic and said WHAT is THAT? :confused:

From what I remember, they will only emerge after the defeat of Dajjal, which hasn't happened yet. So no they haven't been released yet.

I thought they would be released before Dajjal.

My own thoughts is they they were the Mongols, and that the wall (made of iron and copper) referred to in the Quran is a symbolic wall indicating a nation of people put in place by Dhul Qurnain that would hold them back - since iron and copper were used by people back then to make armour and weapons.

The final bit in my theory - i recall reading that the wall was going to hold them back until the day they say "Inshallah" and then they would break through. And the Mongols definitely believed and would write to their enemies that it was God's will that they were conquering (and killing) everyone.

This is a commonly shared theory in my circle too ......the one I am more inclined to believe.
I don't think it was a "physical" wall at all.

i like their Arabic names “Yaajooj aur Maajooj” better than “Gog and Magog”…:slight_smile:

i and my elder brother were inseparable in childhood and people in my village used to call us “Yajooj Majooj” :hehe:

Here is a reference (hadith) that confirms their emergence will be after the defeat of Dajjal and while Isa (AS) is still there:

  • Nawwas b. Sam’an ( رﺿﻲ اﷲ ﻋﻨﻪ )said: One morning, the Messenger of Allah ( ﺻﻠﻰ اﷲ ﻋﻠﻴﻪ وﺳﻠﻢ )mentioned: it would be under such conditions that Allah would reveal to ‘Isa (peace be upon him) these words: I have brought forth servants of mine whom none have any power to fight; so take these people (the believers) safely to Tur; then Allah would send Yāʾjūj and Maʾjūj and they would swarm down from every slope. The first of them would pass the Tiberias Lake and drink out of it. And when the last of them would pass, he would say: There once used to be water here.
    (Muslim)

*The above is an excerpt from a longer hadith, but this much clearly indicates it will be after Isa (AS) returns.

as physical as it gets.
People of the city only as dhul qar nain for his help as consultancy.
They provided resources. He made them melt brass or copper.
And pour when he planned the wall.
So there is no way around it. There is an actual wall.

because if you are referring to the Caspian Gates in Derbent then that raises a whole bunch of other questions.....

I heard from a scholar, the great wall they are trapped behind might be the great of China. Allah knows best.

take a look at this biblical verse

Ezekiel 38:2And the word of the LORD came to me saying, 2"Son of man, set your face toward Gog of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him 3and say, 'Thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am against you, O Gog, prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal.…

I think Rosh → Russia
Meshech —> Minsk
Tubal ----> Tobolsk

so one of them was Russian

well one of his wall as described in quran was found.
In fact the story is interesting. Omer(ra) send a expedition to find that wall, it was some where in russia.

But this wall you asked about not sure if its the same wall as one found be Omer(ra) men.

So they came and they gone - after mass killing! In the years 1206-1368! They were really Allah ka azab! The worst period for Muslims.

Gog and Magog = Russians and Mongols = alignment of Communist forces

Dajjal = Capitalist forces

The second wave of Yajuj Majuj may be after decline in Capitalism as many people are suggesting new superpower could be China.

Yajuj Majuj are out and intermixed with other races and some even became Muslim, but the next outburst will be on ideological lines rather than racials ones.

Derbent, Darial pass, Caucasus range, ties in with the military route.

gog has linguistic connections with volga, and magog with mongol.

Their description is that they have flat faces like shields and have horns. They used to have horned helmets and generally people from these regions do have flatter faces.

Tradition states that Isa (AS) will supplicate and Yajuj Majuj will drown in the river. That has not happened yet.
