Re: Relatives visiting soon

hmm, baby carrier?
THOSE cot mobiles, i love them.

Re: Relatives visiting soon

what do you already have?

Re: Relatives visiting soon

Yes, please inventory everything that you have…

They asked because they are coming, everyone does that. You don’t HAVE to tell them just because they ASKED. Sharam karo kuch aur bolo Allah ka dia sub kuch hai, bass aap khair khariyaat se aah jyain.

They will bring you SOMETHING ANYWAY.

Pakistan main bhi na log MU KHOL ke khare ho jate hain koe aah raha hai jee, maang lo, utarrwaa lo jo kuch mil sakta hai le lo.

Relatives visiting soon

Lol jan leva i always laugh at your posts but this was just hilarious..as I mentioned they r my close enough relatives so i know what they want me to do..as for pakistan mai ye wo..we help each other we send stuff to them and they do the same..so pls dont judge me i dont need it.. if u cant contribute to this thread better leave:)

SGS I have all the basics right now..maybe more than the basics..but I was thinking of stuff that isnt available here..like we dont have medela products here..thinking of getting a medela electric pump..and lanolin cause i couldnt find it here..any othr suggestions?

Relatives visiting soon

I was already having baby blues and thanks to u jan leva im even more depressed now..y do ppl have to judge..before saying something harsh y dont ppl realise that it might hurt someone..its not good to hurt someone’s feelings u know..i know there is nothing wrong with what I asked cause I know what the real situation is but u just had to potray me as a bhoka nanga from pakistan:hinna:

Re: Relatives visiting soon

Well, I was being dead serious. And another advice, DON'T expect stuff from people. You send them stuff, they send you stuff, its all good and jolly. LET THEM BRING the stuff they give you instead of telling them what you want them to bring, besharmo ki tarha.

And there are better ways to know what they like or to tell them what you want them to bring instead of asking some random internet forum. People here don't know what you like, what you already have, what your home situation is like, what kind of things would FIT in your house or your personality and what it likes, dislikes.

Seyaane jo hote hain wo baaton baaton main bata dete hain kya chaheye aur kya nahi. Seyaane jo hote hain wo baaton baaton se samajh jate hain ke logon ko kya cheez chaheye aur kya achi lagti hai aur kis cheez ki zaroorat hai.

mera mu band karne se aur mujhey ye kehna ke leave kar do thread ko se kuch nahi ho ga... Kabooter ki tarha billi ko dekh kar ankhain band kar lene se, kabooter mar jata hai, learn to face up to the realities of life.

Relatives visiting soon

Uff thank u so much for opening my eyes:rolleyes: yea im besharam any prob with that? If yes well i cant do anything about it..like i cant ask u to shut up, u cant stop me from asking others:hehe:

Re: Relatives visiting soon

Sahr, i would just tell them bring what u would like and if they are close just have them bring clothes and in bigger sizes. One of the things i find useful here are body suits which are available for kids upto 24 months and those are very handy when kids are still in diapers. Are they coming from UK or US, if they are coming from uk i love love the ELC store, their toys are very long lasting and they help developing differnt skills according to age of kids. If u have a microwave and ample bijli (not making fun just being realistic) medela makes these sterilizer bags that i love and use a lot saves time and hassle with a small baby. Hope this helps.

Re: Relatives visiting soon

Wow you sound really bitter, pis*ed off, like you have a real chip on your shoulder. You must have some SERIOUS issues...hope they get resolved soon. Take it easy dude x

Re: Relatives visiting soon

From your bf'ing thread was thinking you can ask for an electric pump..medela is really good but very expensive($300) so unless n until you know their budget n itfitsin their budget, it's a good investment. Also, lanolin cream but if things are getting better then you don't need. I haven't used it since my baby was 2-3weeks old.

My sil just had a baby and I took lots of body suits for summer..she found them very useful. I also took some breast pads for my sil... If you have a boy you can ask for jeans..I have never
seen good quality jeans in Pakistan for kids.

But yeah if you are close with teem, ask for their budget and then request accordingly.

Yea automne i was really persistent that they dont have to bring anything but since they r coming specially to see her so thats y they genuinely want me to tell them what is needed..its my husband's phupi and kids coming from canada who will stay at dubai for a few days with their dad(who is my MIL's mamu) then come to khi and we have a close knitted family so they r pretty close..so its not as if k formality puri krahe hun:)
Acha sterilizer bags for bottles?

Close knit family plus same business(same source of income) so budget isnt an issue alhamdolilah:)
Yes I too was thinking of medela's electric pump and I guess storage bags with it hmm

Re: Relatives visiting soon

Yep if you plan to freeze bm, storage bags is a good idea.

On my recent trip to Pakistan, I took munchkin microwave sterilizer bags..you put the bottles in, microwave for 2-3 mins a d your bottles are sterilized.each bag can be used up to 20 times..the box comes with 6 bags.

My sis lives in Pakistan had four kids n every time I asked her fir something to bring from here, she would say nopse you can find it all here n cheaper. I went to mother care n yep I was surprised to see that they had it all..did you check out the electric pump there? Or you canto to that store n see if there is anything that you will like to have n request that..wecancome up with million things that you may not like so do check out zubaidas, mother care etc n then decide.

Re: Relatives visiting soon

Sahr how about some nursing bra's & breast pads?
That'll come handy & convenient for you too.

Re: Relatives visiting soon

how about a baby monitor? we have the philips avent video one- its super helpful to have around. you'll just have to make sure it plugs in to your outlets in pakistan. an adaptor should take care of that problem though.

Re: Relatives visiting soon

Sahr i do love kids clothes from gymboree, gap and osh kosh for boys. And if ur relatives are smart shoppers they can go through the sales bins and find some amazing deals. I second GtG about pants for boys, shirts you can buy fo cheap in pak and pants u can get good quality ones here. Oh and if it is a girl then even more amazing are the clothes for girls but do tell them not to buy anything full priced, i think full price is too much for the above brands.
Also i have heard from diff ppl living in pak that the dtergent in pak destroys even the best of clothes from here, so make sure you are washing ur baby's clothes in a very mild detergent.

I also used the sterilizer bags that GtG mentioned, really saves me space and i can take them with me anywhere i go. one thing i do is i use bottled water and not tap water in the bags to sterlize so i dont have any calcium or lime deposit build up on the bottles.

Re: Relatives visiting soon

^ children's place always has a sale on! i just bought the kid a whole bunch of things and the most expensive item was $9! gap always has sales- 30% off or more- online and in store. maybe you can choose and pay for the clothes online, sahr, and have them delivered to their house and they can simply bring it over to you in pakistan since the gap doesn't deliver to pakistan.

BUT since they're coming from Canada, tell them to go to Joe Fresh! its got a HUGE selection of fantastic, well made, stylish kids clothes with a lot of items under in the $8-$19 range. the best Joe Fresh I've been to is in Mississauga in the Loblaws behind Erin Mills mall.
