Re: Relatives back in India
Sorry but I don’t agree. If Indian Muslims really did hate Pakistan and Pakistani Muslims there would be no such thing as marriages between both nations.
I’m married to a Pakistani and his family and mine never brought up India vs. Pakistan into the scenario. And there’s plenty of marriages like mine. It’s not like there aren’t Hindus & Sikhs living in Pakistan today? I’ve seen the Mandirs in Karachi myself and the Gurdwaras in Lahore and there are sizeable minorities living in Pakistan too. Does that mean those people are cut off from their relatives in India? I don’t know how your family dynamics are so if you guys break relations over nationalities that’s your call.
That’s like saying since my parents immigrated to Canada in the 1980’s they are traitors to India. People move for their family’s future not because they have a deep rooted hatred for their original nation. That makes no sense. Tomorrow if Canada isn’t a great place to raise my kids, would my husband and I pick up and move elsewhere? Hell yes.
