ISLAMABAD: The International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) Wednesday nominated Advisor to the Prime Minister on Interior A. Rehman Malik for the ‘International Peace Award 2008 for War against Terrorism.’
Rehman Malik is the first male form Pakistan and third member of Pakistan People’s Party to receive the honour as the award had also been conferred upon Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in the year 1996 for her outstanding contributions for democracy and human rights.
The award is recognition of the services rendered by Rehman Malik in the area of fighting war against terrorism and extremism and for achieving the lasting peace in the country, strengthening the democratic institution after the establishment of newly elected government under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari.
In his career, Rehman Malik served as the bold and brave officer and as the member of Pakistan People’s Party, he played very vital role for the return of democracy in the country, said Ambassador Dr. Muhammad Shahid Amin Khan, World Chairman of IHRC here after official meeting with Rehman Malik.
Lauding, Rehman Malik for his bold steps as the Interior Minister, Dr. Khan said, ‘he is fighting for the country and its peoples and he is committed to establish peace and rule of law and he is fulfilling the promise of Shaheed Bhutto with the homeland.’
Rehman Malik would receive this award in a ceremony to be organized by the IHRC in New York on December 10, 2008.

Queen Ranja Al-Abdullah of Jordan have also been nominated and have received this award.

Well, if he is the one who acted upon this idea of 'reconciliation' with the tribal people instead of bombing the entire region then no doubt that was a sensible thing to do. But if it was somebody else who initiated this move then apparently the award is going to the wrong guy.
But somebody said above that he is friends with the other Pakistani traitor called altaf hussein. Is that true???

Since I said Altaf is an admirer of Rehman, that does not mean altaf ko utha kar rehman key award bhi dey do. Is tarha tu aap ko bhi do inaam mil jayen gey saleem bhai.

How come everything positive about Rehman Malik in this thread has come from articles in major Pakistani and international newspapers, whereas everything negative about him in this thread seems to be the opinion of amateurs?

^ Did you look at the CCTV footage video of Marriott blast? I think that would be one prime example of how "great" this guy is, how he was begging for "credit" by the audience while ignoring the failings in the same video.
