Regional Forums

Folks:
Many of you have demanded Regional forums. I think its a good idea. What we can do is open a sub forum called Regional. Then links to Pakistan, UK, US, etc. Then for each country 5 or 6 major metro areas. Only these will be the active forums and all above will be links downwards. We can discuss food, travel, business, culture, noise, music, etc particular to that city. As is the case, this will need some time before catching on and before we can fine tune the approach and content. So.. what you think? What cities we should start first. What should be the forum intro like? What else can be done? Lets hear it.

Re: Regional Forums

Let the majority speak first :)

Re: Regional Forums

Lets all participate and make it a success. With all the members' help, it can become an information hub in itself.

Re: Regional Forums

In my own views, the success of it will highly depend upon the interest of members. How do they want to participate and share the critical information that can be useful...

Case in point, my ownself ... Working as a consultant, I have been moving around all over east coast and mid west for past 2 years and few months... A portal where I can get all such information regarding mosques, food, gorcery, places to visit.. nearby main attractions etc. will serve a great deal... but then, only if I am moving to a major metro city... so far it is mainly and primarily islamicfinder ... and a few other sites :D

If the majority is honestly dedicated, it can be a real success...

Re: Regional Forums

Isn’t it same as groups :@:

Or bit modified groups with forums I must say :D

Re: Regional Forums

^ Kevyan ... see.. for now any such thread opened, is in Travel and Tourism...

I remember I had opened a thread in cafe about pittsburgh couple of years back and it was moved to Travel and Tourism and burried there without any siginificant result...

It depends on members' participation really... I am of the opinion that any such projects should have that factor in mind and ways/attraction to bring the people in to participate...

Re: Regional Forums

If you remember , in Past some elements were against such concepts .. No wonder if they bring the same argument again in action ..

Re: Regional Forums

gggggoooooooooooooooooooooddddddddddddd
:2guns:

Lets not live in the past.
focusing on the rear view mirror more than the road ahead leads to accidents.

Re: Regional Forums

and therefore, I have expressed my views in post number 4...

It was just a response to group forums idea...

Re: Regional Forums

But we should learn for our past so don’t commit the same mistake again :)

Re: Regional Forums

Re: Regional Forums

:k:

Re: Regional Forums

Good idea yes but what do you mean by major metro areas? How would you divide up the USA? East/West? North/South? then most likely the Travel/Tourism forum will be empty not that it isn't already (sorry TLK)..

Re: Regional Forums

^^ maybe we can make these sub forums in Travel forum...

Zalim aadmi, zakhmoN ko kuraidtay hu'ai sharam nahi aati :ASA:

Re: Regional Forums

I don’t like the idea. People will be confused about where to post. It will take traffic away from other forums. United we stand, divided we fall :snooty:

ustani jee … if that was the case then we should have kept only a single forum. The idea is to categorize the traffic and provide more focused output to those who may be seeking such localized info.
