I am somebody that goes more heavier on the eyes and RARELY wear colour lipstick. I have been wearing either “Fresh Brew” or “Angel” by MAC for the past ummm…7 years lol. I would love to try to go darker by pulling out a red lipstick look one of these days. I have a white outfit that I will be wearing to a wedding and black saree as well that I was thinking a red look will look nice for.
Can you guys post some pictures of red lipstick looks? What other colours can I wear red lipstick with? I have a mehndi to go to and my outfit is like a pale yellow lace with velvet black borders. What do you think?
This is what I am used to wearing… the first few colours on the left…
S and S, I think the red lipstick look will work for white and/or black outfits (greys will work too). When I do any bold lip color, I prefer to keep the eyes/blush relatively neutral so the focus is on the lips. With Red lips, I like the eye look you post. I always keep the eye color in the grey/black family with HINTS of silver or gold (depending on the accent colors on the outfit). I also make sure my nails are matching red too.
If you google "red lipstick looks" you'll find tons of pics w/ red lips and eye similar to what you post. You can easily choose one that you feel will go best with your outfit. :)
On a side note: Just to do something different, I also love doing this with bright pink lippies (everything else neutral; matching pink nails).
I have always worn light shades myself, however recently my cousin whos a trained make up artist insisted i ditch all my lipsticks in favour of more pinkys and reds.. Obviously it took some getting used to but i finally tried ruby woo by mac and i havent looked back since perfect lip colour i will post a pic of me wearing it :-) i wear it when im wearing just black eye liner
I love rocking the red lips!!! This is Revlon Really Red…it’s my go to red now! ( i did mininimal eye makeup…just a very neutral nude beige eyeshadow, thin line of black eyeliner and mascara…my foundation is Nars Sheer Glow in Stromboli)
Khatti I have the same lipstick, it's pretty awesome! There's another red one by Revlon which is less matt and a bit bluer that I like, called Really Red I think, that's nice too.
I used to shy away from Red infact I never owned any pink lipsticks or red up until a few months ago when my cousin experimented on me I have since worn red on a few occassions here are some pics the red lipstick is ruby woo i think thats how its spelt from mac
