I was just wondering if any of you are aware if they still do this with the brides today, with the whole ghoongat thing over her head on the nikkah…
Do they still do this in Pakistan, I think it’s not that bad and kinda cute too…
Any pictures of this would be very nice if you could share.
Any replies would be much appreciated.
i hav seen some brides with a western veil kinda thing in maching material with the brial dress in some light tissue or net kind of mateiral// .. uff i looked sooooooooo haseen and magical
i think ghungat is the prettiest of all bridal things..
You can have your dupatta pinned back a bit and then put another dupatta that matches the outfit over as a ghoonghat. I've seen this done. If you get it done professionally, it will not move and so you can have it both ways...
have u seen, any bride wearin the ghoongat all the time on the Barat,(thru out the function) like wen ur fully dressed with lehnga, make-up,jewel stuff. But the ghoongat/veil should be a see thru material, like net or tissue as said b4.cz i've seen loadz of brides wearin it for the Nikkah only or may b wen they enter the Hall but take it off as soon as they sit on the stage.
i mean the priety zinta look in veer-zaara, i jus loooooove it :@:, wen she enters as a dulhan wearin that Red garaarah.
may be in the movie they've shown aswell that she'z wearin it for the Nikkah time only, but guppies tell me how will it look if worn thru out the function, Barat.
Here i am once again for ideas and thanks to everyone else who have helped me on last few threads.
I am getting my Nikkah done on the Mehindi day. I always imagined myself wearing red dress but unfortunately it will be type of Mehindi dress color- not sure yet. So i was thinking of having a red dupatta on my head over my mehindi dress during nikkah time. and then take it off.
I need some ideas!! here’s a few i got from other thread but not sure if it will look good with a green dress underneath it.
why don't you add a bit of red into your green dress? red and green look great together! I had a lehnga made that was green, and a red long kameez on top, you could switch the two or just wear green and add some red karhai onto it...
**Poddy; i have no idea what combo it will be with since my MIL is getting it from pak. all i know that its red. Although, Red with gold work looks traditional. anyhow, Thanks for the advice
Loved the pics somegroovychick.. love the way her veil is so long from the front. MashAllah v.pretty bride..May Allah bless her with lots of happiness..
Tklucky 8, My Nikkah will be on the Mehndi day too... I sooooo wanted Nikkah to be on the Barat, with me dressed as a full dulhan. But its okay, as my family wants it to be on the Mehndi.. I love the Idea of the veil at Nikkah time,im not sure if i'll be doin it tho..
