it’s not nearly the “theory” you make it out to be. there is barely any refutation, as it is widely accepted by war historians. given the nature of land invasions and combat at that time, it is a mathematical certainty that far more people would’ve died.
however, i agree that the sole motivation behind the decision was not to save lives, as there was no “sole” motivation - rather, a multitude. but it was most definitely a major factor, arguably the most important.

One of the reasons for educating foreign students is so that when they go home they can try to spread the word on education, development opportunities and food programs within their own countries. Instead, we just see some of these students go back home and perpetuate the "it's all the West's fault" mentality.

I do blame Bush for the economy.
I blame Bush for the price of gasoline.
I blame Bush for not addressing the issues that are causing anger in the world.
I blame Bush for not taking the time to find out why majority of the countries in the world want to see me and my family dead.
Anyhow.
I dislike Bush's party and policies. I don't like what they do. I don't like what they have done.
