Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

Acting, story, directions, lyrics, music all surpasses the poor production qualities of Pakistan’s film industry, which kept on producing classics till 70s.

Lets discuss and recommend such movies in this thread.

I just loved the acting, treatment and music of movie ‘Zehr e Ishq’. Its a must watch.

We might have seen Musarrat Nazeer singing folk Punjabi songs on PTV, but she was more brilliant actress than singer. Her acting in this movie is simply :lajawab:

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

Can we recommend remakes? :sid:

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

originals were way better. You just can’t compare remake of Armaan with original Armaan.

But something is better than nothing, so you can also mention remakes. :chai:

:naraz:

another budhun wala thread, wait for TS, ehsan uncle and hybrid :chai:

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

till then you can post your remake experiences. Have you watched Anjuman? I mean remake of ‘Anjuman’

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

No i didn't! Anjuman's story doesn't appeal me and yes I know it got 7 awards and was the most appreciated movie.

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

There are some classics in Pakistani movies like 'Noor e Islam' having naat 'Shah e Madina' and 'Ayaz' with naat 'Jo hota tera jamal hi'. Islami movies :)

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

What were they about?

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

Haven't watched 'Noor e islam' but Ayaz was a good movie about Mehmood o Ayaz.

Mehmood the hero of some and villain for others (refer PA)

"Muthi bhar chawal“ was a very well made movie. Much better than the Indian version namely "ek chadar meli see"

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

hahaha, well honestly i don’t like any pakistani movie, whether old or new, only music was good of some movies…

There is a difference between watching them and not liking them and not watching them at all.Which category you fall into? Did you ever try to watch any classics?

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

yes i watched many of them on ptv but was not impressed, all are very ordinary movies...

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

I heard that Baghban was also inspired from one of Pakistani movie directed by Madam Sangeeta

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

What do you mean by ordinary? Who produces extraordinary stuff for you in the world? :5:

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

lol, offcourse hollywood, and many bollywood classics are extraordinary…

I heard that Baghban was also inspired from one of Pakistani movie directed by Madam Sangeeta

Ek chadar meli si was an adaption of Rajendar Singh Bedi’s novel of the same name, and so was Muthi Bhar Chawal.

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

yes, I've read the novel, but haven't watched movies based on it. The novel's story is different from Baghban. That would be another Pakistani movie directed by Sangeeta.

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

How do you define extraordinary? Mughal e Azam is extraordinary, while Pakistani Anarkali may not be extraordinary?

Re: Recommend Pakistani Classic movies

yes, mughal-e-azam is extra ordianary, bcoz pakistani movies were always veryyyy weak in direction and story.....
