I don't know which recipe to post coz I cook okras three different ways.

Do you add ginger garlic paste?? And also, when you fry onions do you wait for them to turn brown before adding tomatoes and bhindi? What I usually do is heat oil and add onions, fry them for two or three minutes(not til they turn brown!) and then add ginger garlic paste. Stir for a minute and then add chopped tomatoes, green chillies, okras and masalas (red chilli, garam masala, black pepper and salt). Cover and let it cook for 15-20 mins maximum.

oops sorry I forgot to write turmeric powder...

well, usually i fry okra seperately before adding it to masala ....n its not sticky at all :)

there's two common ways to cook bhindi:

1_ with tomatoes n onions as described above

2_ with some dhania powder n saabat zeera n salt n a tiny pinch of haldi..no added spices...method: assuming v r cooking half a kilo of bhindi..add ghee/oil, then 2 small chutkis of sabat zera in it, when then zeera is fried but not burnt, add bhindi then fry for some time, then put namak n haldi n 2 small chutkis of dhania powder, bhonofy til done....

There is a third way a.k.a Masala Bharri Bhindis. You stuff half cut bhindis with spices and let them sit for an hour. Then fry them with onions and oil. They are best eaten with tomatoes, onions and cucumber salaad (not salad).

yeah that’s one of the ways I use…:k:

i eat bhindi ki sabzi as well as bhindi ka salan..and in my opinion nothing beats bhindi ka salan :yummy:

ty guys I'll try the other ways. ty esp Iram or corruptangel.:)

never knew bhindi was also called okra.
havent eaten it for agesssss..... infact 5 yrs!
i luv bhindi.... but hayyy i love it with a lot of onions and tomatoes... and its dryish i mean there are tomatoes in there,,, but they r kinda fried not mixed up as a paste.

the tamatar and onions arent a paste in Bhindi thori kyun ke usse bhoonthe hoowe daalthe hain... if u put it in the beginning and mush it up... tho phir woh masala ban jaatha hai... like in other salanz..
