I had a good stable job and i resigned them2 yrs back for better salary, They requested me a lot to stay back, i even didn’t lift their phone,
now when i shifted to new project it ended suddenly without a day notice.
In present situation they are hardly any jobs, very much tense
Now i heard that the same position is open in my previous company, i don’t know how to approach the manager as i didn’t listen to him that time
advice me whether i can call him and ask for help?
suppose if evrything goes well and i joined there back, when the job market is good and i feel to go for better salaries then it won’t look good ditching them again, and i can’t stay long there my life time with that salary
I'd send him an e-mail..just a causual one, not mentioning anything about my current unemployment or an opening at his company. If he's interested in bringing me back, he'd reply and let me know about the opening..or he'll ignore my e-mail...in either case, I'll get the point.

My wife is very close to his wife and they talk eachother on phone frequently even after i left the company, if he replies back just casual email then shud i proceed asking him about job?
Do not think much about it. In corporate world everybody is working for money. They hire you because you are willing to work till the money is right. Call that person and talk heart to heart. He might hire you.
Once things improve talk to them about a raise , if that does not happen quit and go explore the world.
It is that simple.

Once he replies your causal email , call the couple for a dinner at your place , over this weekend , let your wife does the talking regarding arranging the dinner .
After the dinner , let the girls do the cleaning and take your man out for a walk or smoke ..
While there , share your current situation with him and ask for his advice , if he is still willing to take you back , he might bring that thing again !

I hope and pray , things will work out for you !
Thats a nice idea or you can take the guy to a lunch and seek a advice asking that you are unemployed and you are looking for job.It will give him message if he is interested then he will ask you.
In your situation since you are desperate it is better to ask you old position back directly since it is open again. If you pose the question directly it will show that you are interested and desperate and he will take it that you will stick around for long time.
He might be able to refuse either if you pose the question directly.
