Recent violence and Foreign Investment [split from: Pakistan plans all-out war]

not when these terrorist acts are going to scare away foreign investors which can help the poor and develop the economy

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

That is the only attraction for people who are supporting Musharraf ... oh look at reserves, oh look at GDP growth etc, you need to look beyond money matters if you want to develop as a society, as a country.

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

well money is the driving force if you want to develop the country

why is india developing faster than pakistan?

because they have a good solid economic base from which they are generating capital

so please tell me, what ideas do you have to develop the society?

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

Yes. BB and NS will make Pakistan into a land of milk and honey, and give you what you are looking for.

Even if you hate Musharaf, give credit where credit is due. Pakistan now has a great foundation to move forward as long as there is continuity. If not then expect another 50 years of despair.

Terrorists from Muslim countries have become a menace to society all over - not just Pakistan. Pakistan will Inshallah overcome this menace thorough economic development.

God Bless President Musharaf for giving Pakistan something to be proud of such as, Free Media, Free Judiciary, and unprecedented Economic Growth.

God Bless Pakistan. :jhanda:

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

Look beyond money matters? But where? Every single faction of the society is connected with its economics.

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

Education....If you train you human resource they will themselves find thier economic direction...India is devloping faster not because of anything happened overnight....they for years worked harder on developing educated human resource through quality education>>>>

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

Why India progressed faster than Pakistan? I have said million times and say it again because it is a biggest democracy in the world. Other reasons are subsidiary to that primary reason.

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

Farid the biggest democracy in the world was ruled by one family for 35 years.

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

Then why did China progress? That is not a democracy.

Re: Recent violence and Foreign Investment [split from: Pakistan plans all-out war]

Because people voted them to be their leaders for 35 years. They did not come through back doors.

Russia was also once a super power, what happened to it? China is a socialist country and moving toward market economy. Some day it will be a democratic country. Moreover government of China is not corrupt and looks after the interest of their people equally. Pakistan can not be like China or North Korea. ZAB tried this format(Islamic Socialism) of government failed miserably.

You have to decide what kind of government do you want? To me remaining Pakistan’s only survival lies in the unadulterated democracy like in India.

Re: Recent violence and Foreign Investment [split from: Pakistan plans all-out war]

So if people voted for the Sharif family for 35 years then that would be a democracy? Sheesh.

This guy hits on the head. That is why India does so well, its because its leaders established law and order and a solid foundation. Unlike ours who looted the country.

Re: Recent violence and Foreign Investment [split from: Pakistan plans all-out war]

There is a hell of difference between Sharif family and Nehru/Indra Gandhi family. Former nurtured and feed by a dictator, later a very rich family served people and India with their hearts and souls. NS when landed in September 07, there were not a thousand people to greet him. His own people back stabbed him and he was again kicked out to SA. So don't worry people of Pakistan are not that dumb and stupid.

If NS can serve his country like Nehru or Indra Gandhi, he can rule Pakistan for 350 years.

Re: Recent violence and Foreign Investment [split from: Pakistan plans all-out war]

That is our main problem and not the democracy.

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

Farid bhai, one of the reasons is that India never had leadership like the past leaders of Pakistanis.

Whereas past leaders of Pakistan were worried about looting, or dividing a nation so as to stop a Bengali from becoming a PM despite Sheikh Mujibur Rahman winning the support of the majority of the nation.

Secular India never had these problems.

Isn’t it ironic that a so called military leader (President Musharaf) has given Pakistan more hope than any previous leader of Pakistan, with Free Media, Free Judiciary, and unprecedented Economic Growth.

God Bless Pakistan. God Bless President.

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

It has also given it corruption, uncontrolled terrorism by pandering to the lal masjid people in order to further his own position, tried to stifle free media by taking channels off the air, tried to manipulate the judiciary. All these efforts failed becuase the people were in no mood to take nonsense form this dictator. As for economic growth his obsession to hold on to power even at the cost of destroying Pakistan has jeporadised this aspect as well.

Allah help Pakistan with him in power. :jhanda:

Re: Recent violence and Foreign Investment [split from: Pakistan plans all-out war]

As someone who does not participate here very often but who is fascinated by Pakistan for many reasons (my mother was born in Hyderabad and did her schooling in Karachi before the family moved to India) I have a few takes on the economic issue being discussed here. I work with a company that has done business in Pakistan in the past and which is working on plans to re-enter your country in association with a Paistani-American business. The tragedy of innocent people being killed by murderous madmen has not affected the plans to do business in Pakistan as the American entity is aware of the potential to do business and of the need for their machinery in Pakistan.

Yes, the horror of violence is something that needs to be addressed and hopefully, your army would achieve this as soon as possible. But, I don't foresee, at least from the example of the companies that I am working with, that the plans of foreign companies to come to Pakistan to do business have been affected.

Hopefully, peace and prosperity will flourish in Pakistan and in the whole world.

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

Don't worry BB is back - she will save Pakistan. :D

Re: Recent violence and Foreign Investment [split from: Pakistan plans all-out war]

When your sarcasms will stop against BB? I know deep down in your heart you hate BB as much as you love pir Altaf the God Blessed Savior of MQM?

Re: Recent violence and Foreign Investment [split from: Pakistan plans all-out war]

How can I not like the ‘Daughter of the East’, the savior of Pakistan?

Farid bhai, it seems BB now loves MQM as much as she loves President Musharaf.

Have a look at this link. Before the tragedy of 18th October, Altaf and BB would not talk to each other directly although she praised MQM and was happy to work with them. But now, it seems, they are coming even closer than first anticipated few weeks ago.

Re: Pakistan plans all-out war on militants

And who brought her back, the dictator who was desperate to hang on to power. Proves my point he will even destroy Pakistan to hang on to power.
