Allah has given you freedom of choice to choose whatever religion or philosophy you want to believe in.
If Allah wanted He would have hardwired all the humans to believe in Him and worship Him. He has hardwired some other creations but not humans. It was His divine wisdom to give freedom of choice to humans for His own reasons.
Yes Muslim Alims and we Muslims at large never have gotten this point and try to enforce our own thinking not the will of Allah.
Alllah has willed in Quran ' No compulsion in deen.' Can anything be more specific and clear cut than this ?
There is no punishment for blasphemy prescribed in Quran .

someone is ACTUALLY suggesting that the testimony of 2 women is required to be equal to the testimony of 1 man because women are forgetful?
Based on what I've read, it's not a legal directive, nor is it meant to be applied in all cases or on a state level. Basically, its the guidelines for selecting witnesses for the documentation of financial transactions between individuals...and nothing else.

A woman can't be trusted to be a witness (in general), but can be trusted to transmit Hadith? Hmm....
Can someone please, please, please give me a comprehensive Tafsir on the above verse that does not indulge in armchiar psychology, or inferred conclusions? Just Quran and Hadith please....I've been googling for a bit (perhaps I'm not as good a googler as I thought)...and all I see is the above quoted verse, with pages and pages of editoral nonsense unrelated to anything derivable from our primary sources...why the hell are people so insecure that they feel the need to fall back on apologetics?
I'm certain scholars who generalize the above verse into a general rule had laid out a detailed explanastion somewhere...you'd think if a person was going to write an article on the topic at the very least they'd present their reasoning and not just the conclusions....

About the witness of 1 man and 2 women, it is written in Surat Al-Baqara 2:282*"Believers, when you make a deal for a loan for a prescribed period of time, write down the agreement. A scribe should write down the agreement between you, with justice. The scribe should not refuse to write it down, as God gave him the knowledge of writing. So he must write it down. The debtor should dictate the writing and [while doing so,] he must fear God, his Lord [and dictate it justly] and not reduce any part of the amount. If the debtor is not of a sound mind or is weak or is in any other way incapacitated to dictate the agreement, then his guardian may dictate [the terms on his behalf] with justice. Make two of your men a witness on this agreement. In case two men are not available, then a man and two women. Such witnesses as you choose. [Two women in place of one man have been advised, so] that if one of them errs, the other may remind her. The witnesses should not refuse when they are called to testify." (Al-Baqarah 2: 282)"*
WITNESS AT MATTER OF FIDAK ... which was ignored by Ruler of Time:
Hazrat Fatima claimed that Fadak was bestowed upon her as a gift by her father and that it was in her possession and control during the Holy Prophet's lifetime. She was asked to furnish witnesses. She produced Amiru'l-Mu'minin Ali Bin Abi Talib and Hasan and Hussein as her witnesses. But their evidence was rejected. Was this action not unjust? It is beyond comprehension how anybody could reject Ali's testimony. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Qur'an that we should be with Ali, that is, we should follow him. Zaid-e-Adl became the embodiment of truth because of his extreme truthfulness. Similarly, Ali was also called 'the truthful,' as Allah says: "O you who believe! be careful of (your duty to) Allah, and be with the truthful ones." (9:119) "Truthful ones" refers to the Prophet Muhammad, Ali, and the holy Ahle Bait

Why beat around the bush?
It takes a full brain to bear witness and since the women are considered to be half wits, 2 of them make a whole.
Ps: Don't yell at me for this - there are still "women" here that defend polygamy and settle for. a fourth share in marital bliss!
