really afraid of new emerging trends............

Re: really afraid of new emerging trends…

That sounds fine, so long as the rigging does not impact the end result of the election in a major way. But this rigging (which by all accounts has been the worst ever in Pakistan’s history), has impacted the direct outcome. PTI had a huge penetration in Karachi, and many polling agents have reported that PTI won, but results were manipulated afterwards to suit MQM. Same in Punjab, except instead of MQM, it was PML-N.

Accepting the results is one thing. But if this trend continues (which it will if some heads do not roll this time around), then in the next elections, it will be the same Punjab govt and same MQM, with the same patwaris and police, and same format of rigging as this time around. If we dont raise a voice against the magnanimity of rigging, we are disrespecting the mandate of more than 20 million voters. Shame on ECP and CT if they dont take appropriate action.

Like all other elections in Pakistan, this also turned out to be an engineered election, and if we do not make people pay, the next elections will be the same. Change has to start somewhere.
