really afraid of new emerging trends............

Re: really afraid of new emerging trends............

with all due respect i beg to disagree waleed..

punjabis voted for bhuttos many times.....and they did not vote for khan just because he is not a punjabi..actually imran is a punjabi pathan..why didnt they vote for imran? I DONT KNOW....I have some theories but that is what we need to figure out especially in the context of semi urban and rural punjab instead of calling them paindoos, jahils and illiterate and start cursing them....that is all i said!!I used to think along the same lines but that is a wrong thinking, as I see it now.

and i doint think punjab voted for nawaz coz he is a pujabi....i think if nawz screws up this time he will be up for an electoral failure in punjab

similarly pathans have voted for everyone...in last 4 elections, they had PPP, PMLN, Molvis, and ANP...they have voted for everyone and then kicked them out when those parties did not function...

sindhis..well at least historically they always voted for Sindhis..deep sigh

Baluchistan...mostly sardars or a mix..so no trend

hope it helps!

Re: really afraid of new emerging trends............

phoenixdesi, as much as you and I want PTI to be a very distinct party, to be a party of all nice, humble yet patriotic people but you don't realize the supporter coming into PTI are not aliens, they were supporters of other parties before starting to support PTI. On your level, if you are a PTI supporter, simply try to calm them down, show them civilized manner... this what we need. We don't want to turn into jiyalas of PMLN or PPP. Don't be disheartened, just educate others, teach them etc.

Re: really afraid of new emerging trends............

That sounds fine, so long as the rigging does not impact the end result of the election in a major way. But this rigging (which by all accounts has been the worst ever in Pakistan's history), has impacted the direct outcome. PTI had a huge penetration in Karachi, and many polling agents have reported that PTI won, but results were manipulated afterwards to suit MQM. Same in Punjab, except instead of MQM, it was PML-N.

Accepting the results is one thing. But if this trend continues (which it will if some heads do not roll this time around), then in the next elections, it will be the same Punjab govt and same MQM, with the same patwaris and police, and same format of rigging as this time around. If we dont raise a voice against the magnanimity of rigging, we are disrespecting the mandate of more than 20 million voters. Shame on ECP and CT if they dont take appropriate action.

Like all other elections in Pakistan, this also turned out to be an engineered election, and if we do not make people pay, the next elections will be the same. Change has to start somewhere.

Re: really afraid of new emerging trends............

PTI has established themselves as a viable alternate to PMLN instead of pathetic PPP. They have been given a mandate to do an active opposition role for next 5 years. It's time to forget about election fever and assume the role as mandated by the people. PMLN faces a challenge that if they don't perform now.. people have an option for the next election. PTI should organize themselves.. do their homework.. they are the government in waiting now...

Disagree. PTI has brought political awareness to a particular class and age group that never bothered to be involved in anything political before.
