oh god ppl...I think I am saying this like a millionth time here, please ppl understand the culture...a lot of india wedding are jigjig and colorful thats how their culture is...99% of the brides are not getting married jsut to showcase a designer outfit and some jewelry,all nice and matchy matchy... here wedding are so much more, they are about rasams, family, keeping their values/traditions alive etc, few girls I know wore their mothers or MIL's wedding sari with some nani dadi's jewelry and it doesn't go well together, SO WHAT....why it had to fit a certain bill
in my husband's nan-hiyaal, once the meet and greet is done, the girl supposed to wear all the jewelry she got as gifts before rukhsaki or end of the function/party, if she doesn't, ppl who gave her jewelry take it as a disrespect and rejection of their gift, some of the pics from after gift giving are a mess, the big flowers that don't look esthatically pleasing, the big naths...all are TRADITIONS, please try to understand the 'ladofy factor' and don't fit all the brides in one frame or judge them according to one 'standard' that we paksitanis have in our narrow mind. The brides in india are very diferent, from south to north, east to west....probably they are all loaded in their own way but that is the CULTUREEEEEE
I LOVE YOU DOSA CHICK for the above msg. :) You're so right.

Finally, it was the images of the decked-up elephant, and the groom on a white horse which excited Monaco and the world media most. Even before the wedding, the celebration was in-the-news, Indian newspapers talked about Kajal Fabiani and Gaurav Assomull’s exotic wedding destination, Monaco’s media referred to it as Biggest Destination Wedding in their principality, and members of the Sindhi community exchanged notes on the fairy-tale extravagaza which Billionnaire Kamal Fabiani was organising for his daughter. The four-day celebration ended on March 21st with a finale by singing sensation Akon. Here are some pictures of the Big Fat Marriage, managed by Aditya Motwane and Nemish Sanghvi of Percept D’Mark and Frank Damgaard, head of Monte-Carlo Weddings.
============================================================================================
Socialite Kajal Fabiani married Gaurav Assomull, CEO of luxury purveyor Marigold Group, in a glittering ceremony in Monaco.
This big, fat Indian wedding, the most elaborate Indian wedding the Mediterranean principality has ever witnessed, apparently cost about $10 million (approx Rs. 44 crore) to put together.
The four day fiesta started with a youngster’s party at Monte Carlo’s Indian-themed lounge bar, The Buddha Bar. The mehendi was held at the Hotel Hermitage one of Monaco’s most luxurious hotels and was followed by a sangeet evening at Salle Empire at the exceptional Hotel de Paris, which is known for its loyalty to grand tradition.
The wedding itself took place on Monday, March 21 where Assomull lead the baraat from Casino Square on a white horse. The baraatis were led back to the Hotel Hermitage for the wedding. Two Indian elephants, included for good luck, were also paraded down Casino Square. Both the bride and groom were dressed in Kajal’s favourite Indian designer, JJ Valaya’s creations.
After a private traditional wedding ceremony in the Salle Garnier, around 600 guests were treated to a post-wedding cocktail party at the Casino Atrium. A lazer show and four-course dinner wrapped the night. But the show-stealing event at the wedding was a finale concert by Hip Hop star Akon, Wedding Sutra reported.
The Fabiani-Assomull wedding extravaganza was organised by Aditya Motwane of Percept D’Mark and Frank Damgaard, head of Monte Carlo Weddings.

The bride parents wash the grooms feet ( not literally though ), as in the olden days the grooms came from out-of-town on animal drawn carts to the girls house. So the brides parents would first help them in freshening up after their long tiring journey. Just basic hospitality that has now become a part of the whole ritual. ( As per my knowledge )

re: Real Indian Weddings
why do indian brides look like someone threw up polki n diamonds on them and why does the jewellery never match the clothes and why is everything is tacky! i dont think indians knws the term less is more apparently apparently more is more for them!
That's kinda rude considering you've never really been to every indian wedding? The weddings shown here are of rich ass people obviously showing off how much they have. I've been to wedding where the brides are elegant yet tasteful in what they wear. I'm indian and I wouldn't dress like that. Please stop generalizing all indians, because I don't think you would want to be put into a category either. I'm not trying to be rude but I don't get why there's always this ingrained india vs. pakistan b/w ppl. Can we move past this please?
