My husband eats brown pita. deep kai naan is full of cholesterol, maida etc… any suggestion? so what u guys eat with daal and sabzi, salan etc..

Re: Ready made roti

i get wheat roti from HEB or Krogers. The HEB by my place makes them fresh in the bakery area. They aren’t the best, but healthy. My hubbys, LO eat the Deep naans as well :frowning: they dont like the healthy option :frowning:

Re: Ready made roti

Whole wheat tortillas or flat bread from Costco. I also like the naans from Costco.

Re: Ready made roti

^lol, rabia. my kids hates the smell of whole wheat pita when my husband warm them up in the microwave. I once tried frozen roti by some pakistani brand but didn’t like the taste. I don’t have Krogers. its so much time consuming once I tried to make myself hmm abot 15 rotis for the week.

Re: Ready made roti

Lusi, whole wheat nahi khani..lol

can u plz tell me the brand name from Costco.

Re: Ready made roti

I cant eat ready made roti, in home it just takes 5 to 10 mins to knead n make roti

Re: Ready made roti

^DA r u serious. its a lot of mess when making rotis aur phir clean up. phir kids ju mess kartae hain mat pocho.. tumarae liye shayad left hand ka kaam hai :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Ready made roti

Really dont think it takes that long to make roti. But I kneed the atta on sunday night, and put it in tupperware, and cover with oil on top. It stays good for a couple days, and roti its self is about 10 minutes for 3 -4 roties.

but if i know im going to be late, i buy this paratha its small pack of 25. I will get the name of it when i get home. Its not roti, but it tastes better then pita bread.

Re: Ready made roti

shohar kay liye do rotian dal do gi to choti nahi hojao gi… :hehe:

Re: Ready made roti

Mahool, wat u doin here. Go make rotis :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Ready made roti

why so much mess I just take very little water in a bowl and in the sink knead atta never knead in large amount when you try tht then water and atta adjusting takes time n things get difficult I do on alternate days 1 cup water 1 1/2 cup atta , after kneading keep it in damp cloth and refrigerate for 10 to 15 mins and then make roti , I just simple make roti on my shelf kisi cheez pe balay nhi jata aur baut thora dry atta phele shelf pe thora sa laga lo thori se roti bail kr baki hath pe like you do n then place on tawa , soon after tawa I clean the shelf wth wet wipe n there you go

Re: Ready made roti

Tortillas…actually some of the corn tortillas taste better than whole wheat naan with desi food.

The tortillas are usually lower in cals, sugars, sodium, etc.

Re: Ready made roti

these naan Weiterleitungshinweis

flat bread…

it tastes just like roti

Re: Ready made roti

get a roti maker.

Re: Ready made roti

Well, i m not pro. It takes a lot of practice to make rotis in minutes.
Some ppl make rotis everyday, so they become expert in it.

Lusi, link not working.

Re: Ready made roti

That’s like saying: I don’t buy salan I just cook it… bus pyaaz ko thorra sa brown ker ke lehsan adrak dalo aur bhunno… phir masalay apni pasand se dal kar, tamatar dalo, bhunno… etc etc. Yeah, it’s easy when you write it, but when you’ve come back from a long day and are knackered the last thing you want to do is get the atta out and start kneading! When I’m that tired I can’t even be bothered to fold two pieces of bread together to make a sandwich, let alone make roti!

Re: Ready made roti

then its on you, I also come daily after long day but I make sure to go straight in kitchen rather than taking rest I know once I will sit I will not be able to do anything, its personal preference I cant eat ready made roti I like fresh tawa vali so I gather energy n do it. last but not the least practice once you do it over n over gain it gets easy.

Re: Ready made roti

making roti is like a 30 minutes task for me. and it 30 minutes that i can be playing with my little one instead of letting him watch TV. Sorry not doing it!!! also i have seen this happen with my own brother…who will NOT eat any other roti except homemade stuff ( ammi has spoiled them pretty bad.) and i don’t want my son to develop this habbit.

Same, the wheat tortillas i get from HEB really don’t smell bad. I hate the wheat naan as well or wheat pita bread ( they smell like milk, which i hate.) I also don’t warm it up in the microwave…i use my stove top (gas.)

Re: Ready made roti

Thanks Lusi

Ok so I went to pakistani store yesterday, I bought Taza ki hand made roti which I have tried before, but it was pretty long time ago. they used to be little big, thick, but now its very thin and small in size. I compaed the ingredients and fats, carbs, sodium etc.. with deep naan, so these rotis are much healthier than deep naan.

I will also check out what Lusi mentioned at Costco.
I cook on sundays 3-4 dishes as i work full time plus 3 small kids.

Thank u all
