the “stoning the prostitute” verses in the NT are long-acknowledged by numerous Christian authorities to be spurious… a later interpolation… and are omitted or footnoted in many (if not most) modern translations… as an example the New International Version, which i have, says about this stoning narrative:
“The earliest and most reliable manuscripts and other ancient witnesses do not have John 7:53 - 8:11”
