The focus on having fair elections would be futile - first the people of Pakistan need to know how to think in terms of the benefit to the country rather than thinking in terms of personal benefit.
Secondly, they need to root out corruption - they can do this using an NGO method against bribery and threat and provide resources and protection to people who are being targeted with these techniques. Naming and Shaming in public spheres - such as TV and use of spy cameras and wires for people so they can catch the corrupt practices as they happen and provide evidence for the courts.
In a free and fair elections I think NS will come back with a reduced majority. He still has a lot of support.
In all probability NS will win & PTI may not even win the number seats it has now. PTI does not have much support in rural Pakistan where 70% of country population lives. PTI has support in urban centers and that is not enough. That brings up interesting question. Why is IK doing what he is doing?
I beleive priority to be given for bio metric system implementation. Sufficient resources to be provided as the top most priority of this country.
Sure there will be problem due to Illiteracy , at leat this wil be as step forward for fair elections
If after getting exposed completely in public, lying in parliament, not allowing even FIR of victims (model town 17[SUP]th[/SUP] June), treating state institutions as personal servants, using police to brutally attack and kill unarmed citizens (old, young, men, women, children, infants, and even pregnant women), letting country go to dogs but sticking with chair as greedy, knowing how he got into power after massive rigging, still if people vote for Nawaz Shareef than it is not fault of Liars who exploit people, but it is fault of people.
Though I think, even in 2013 election, PMLN got number of seats due to massive rigging, wrong counting, and wrong tabulating, else PMLN would have got no more than few seats in NA and handful of seats in PA, loosing even control of Punjab.
And in next election, I doubt if they would get more than couple of dozen seats in NA and PA combined, and that is the reason PMLN is letting the country go to dogs and not calling electoral reforms, election reforms, fool-proof election procedure, and new election … because they know they would be no where if free and fair election is held, else, if NS was confident that whatever happens, he would win seats he has, or even could come with largest party in parliament, he would have called election long time ago.
How much have you let media propaganda affect you? Which channels do you watch? If both ... then you are better suited to make a fairer assessment.
I would have more respect for IK if he did all of this outside politics - he should not stand for prime minster - but remain an activist to keep the runners on their toes ... The one who really wants to help Pakistan is the one who gains no benefit and the one who the opposition cannot even throw mud on that it sticks ...
We need a change - that is true ... but we will not get it - if we don't change ourselves ... None of this visual protest is necessary ... people can just stop paying taxes whilst sitting in their homes ... people can demand services without rishwat ... When a police officer hampers a poor soul on the street how many people walk by ignoring it - afraid for themselves? When will we start to take the initiative ... O' Ye Pakistanis .... When you see something that could be interpreted as corrupt practice - take your mobile phones out and click video record ... upload it to dailymotion - FB and see how the world around you changes very quickly ...
