Idk if u answered it befoer but did u put the can with the chicken in the oven? how did u cook them vertically? Wen u made it in oven...how long and at what temperature ??

Yes, I bbqed the chicken with the can inside.
I used the outdoor gas grill but you can do it in the oven also. If you look at the 2nd picture from chicken series, you will see that the left chicken is directly sitting on the can while right one has a stand in which I inserted the can and then slid the chicken on top.
That stand, I bought from Lowes (from their Bbq Grill accessories aisle) for $3.99. It is made to cook soda can chicken.
However, the left chicken (one with just the can and no stand) also remained sturdy when I made it sit in the grill.
I preheated the grill till 450 and then cooked the chicken for 40 mins at low heat
