oh i seeee... this is the same as a sat lara... i know these! haha i just didnt know them as rani haars. its cos its meant to have "saat" or seven layers to the necklace.
my mom's chandan haar is really long, its got three layers if i recall correctly and its made of flat gold, well, they look like daisies to me. the chandan haar is hyderabadi too. so its 3 chains of varying length of small, flat, gold flowers. it sounds weird, but its really very pretty -- i'll post a pic next time i see it.

^^yea do get a pic. my mum used to have one with motees though and i loved that one, but im not feeling the gold ones these days.

My mom has a gold one too, like down to teh waist, looks like 3 necklaces attached..im not crazy abt that, i like the beaded one, like the 1 I had on my wedding. My MIL has given all of us bahus the same amount of stuff (with slight variation in color/design)..when my devar gets married ill post that pic too :D

oooh please post a picture of one if you cna please. My mom is constantly telling me how she wants to make me a chandan haar and she has always describes that it has the small flat flowers. I have a picture in my mind but I still don't know what it looks like. The chandan haars sound really pretty.

Ur right Groovychick! In fact my mum and pretty much every1 else says the same thing i shud just get one made and wear it for a close relatives wedding. I tried to get one made in London just b4 i got married cos its hard for me to go to karachi but the jewellers here didnt have a clue what i was going on abt:mad: . So i thought next time my mum goes to karachi im gonna give her a pic and ask her to me one made out there cos at least they’ll make it to the way i want it. 
Ohhh do post a pic of the chandan haar…i wore all my mums jewellery when i got hitched and it looked fab.

sara: i think our mums have the same chandan haar then.
i like that is just three chains of little flowers, made in gold, and its not super yellow gold, and it comes down all the way to the waist and its just so swingin' and free and very light since the daisies are so small. it really would look awesome with jeans too- its surprisingly mod for an old piece of jewellery. its also pretty unfussy so i think it'll go well with the wedding outfit where i do want to wear more than once piece of jewellery but not look like i'm wearing 10 kilos. so the choker will take care of the neck and the chandan haar will just be a pretty swing-y thing around my neck. yay! haha :) can u tell i'm excited??

it looks to me saath lara is a traditional hydrabadi jewelery design usually pearls..

Ur rani haars lovely Sara. Did u wear the haar on its own or did u have earrings with it as well?
I really like ur jethani's one...it looks like the whole full set with matching earrings and Jhoomar. Very nice!

Amani, the rani haar came with a jhumar and earrings to match w/ my lengha.. also had a separate tikka and two smaller gold sets that I wore (w/o the earrings) :)

Oh cool i can kinda see ur earring in the pic. I was just wondering cos in some of the bridal pics, the dulhans have worn the rani haar without matching earrings but i think it looks nicer as a whole set.
