I’m not really bothered anymore if our players struggle with English..I was infact more impressed with Rana’s interview with Shastri at being given the man of the series award..When Shastri commented that Rana was very popular among the pakistani players he replied that he was just an ordinary member of the team & that it is the senior players who are the popular ones..although it may seem just a statement, i was really taken aback as here we have someone whose name has gone down in pak/indian cricketing history, & he handled it so well..Its quite different from the statements that a certain fast bowler ( lurking somewhere in Pakistan) likes to make b4 every series..& i believe that if the same question had been asked by Shastri to him, his chest would have inflated & head would have been floating in 7th heaven.
I love the humbleness about this Pakistani team.
I actually believe its Inzi’s personality rubbing off on the team.

I agree with everyone, who has posted their comments here, Naveed was indeed impressive with his humbleness, even Shastri was compelled by it to talk in urdu, otherwise, he wudn't have let this chance go (of embarrasing pakistani cricketers over their broken English)... but hands up to Rana, and lets hope that he continues to be a vital part of Pakistani Bowling Attack and his head continues to stay on this earth (not in sky like some other bowlers)...
I wonder if Naveed can teach Actor how to concentrate on bowling, rather than acting.. if he can, we can have (not exactly a carbon copy, but a generic version) of the best bowling attack...that we had 5 years ago...
(Akram, Waqar, Actor, Saqlain, Razzaq and Aaqib Javed(many of us dont remember him, but Tandulkar was his bunny, does that ring a bell)....
our first choice now shud be
Naveed, Actor, Shabbir, Razzaq for fast bowlers, while Afridi, Malik, Kaneeria can spin around..
second string (if one of them gets unfit (for unknown reasons)
Sami, Arshad, Rao and Gull ( i hope that guy recovers soon, Inshallah)...

I didn't like Rana at first but hes one player who has really earned respect with me. Now I admire the guy. His performances in Australia were exemplary where he led by example and showed his true heart fighting for Pakistan. Even if he gets hit allover the park he keeps his cool and keeps trying by which time Actor and a few others would have lost heart. He proved his worth in India and his place in the side should be cemented.

It's just too bad that Rana's still not considered automatic choice for Tests. He should be our number 1 bowler in both forms of cricket.

I heard him bout 6 months back in a program on Jeo,when he said that he has 4 daughters,means he is not too young but he sure gives his 100%

I still think Rana would not be this effective in the tests, and will struggle because of his lack of pace...Sami is still a better option in tests.....

I prefer Rao over “Actor”. Arshad is not a wicket taking bowler. If you watched the Indian Vs. Pakistan, you would realise that he can only in-swing which makes him quite predictable and allows the batsman to adjust easily.

That was said about Rana earlier as well before his heroics won over his critics in tour of Australia specially. Yes he might not be as successful in tests but he was not tipped to be successful in one dayers either so one can not be sure.
